  1. I mean, many of the fastest growing cities are sprawling messes in the sunbelt and the west. Columbus is the same.
  2. What are the 30 minute lunch rules?
  3. I mean, it will definitely be there unused for longer now because of corona, but it had been installed at the same time as the others and had already sat unused for a while before corona.
  4. Yea, the third tower base for the OSU 15th and High project has been there for months
  5. Ahh, ok. Yea, I misunderstood that part. Thought you were talking about 4 projects in total.
  6. Which projects are you talking about here? Just making sure I'm not missing one. Are you including Millenial? So, Market Tower, Hilton, OSU Hospital Tower, and Millenial Tower?
  7. Were you able to hear anything more on this?
  8. I, for one, appreciate all of positive articles you contribute to our threads, @Clefan98. You seem to have a strong interest in central Ohio. If you're looking to make the move and need advice on neighborhoods, don't be shy, just ask!
  9. Yea, that rendering has me very excited about the rest of the project. So much potential for those riverfront towers.

How is the fake crowd noise?
  11. Why? Aren't there already engineering applications filed for the Peninsula?
  12. I just know him as a frequent complainer in the Columbus Underground comments section
  13. Fair point. Obviously, I'm no expert on this stuff. I'm a software dev. I follow Columbus development because I love seeing the growth of Columbus. Other than that, I'm not connected with the industry at all. I'm familiar with names like Kauffman, Wagenbrenner, Crawford Hoying, NRI simply because I started following this forum. Don't really know much about Arshot other than the occasional insults on here. Also don't know much about the one working on this project other than they're big nationally but haven't done anything in Columbus. So, I'm not sure how optimistic to be.
  14. "We are actively proceeding with the project, as there is significant market demand for a mixed-use project of this magnitude," Arshot Investment Corp. Principal Bill Schottenstein said in an email. "Columbus is moving beyond the outdated classical commercial building model and towards spaces that promote connectivity and community engagement" That's a quote about Millenial Tower from 2018. Just saying. I don't necessarily think this is the same, because of where it's gotten in the process, but you can't really fault @DTCL11 for thinking it feels similar.
  15. But, also, even though it seems crazy that such a prime spot hasn't been developed, I wonder if it's taking so long exactly BECAUSE it's such a prime spot. Right in the heart of tons of other development near the arena and convention center. I'm wondering if these developers are worried about underdeveloping such an important site that they think might offer a huge payday after a few more years of growth. Imagine the potential in a few years after Short North and Arena District are fully built out on top of all of the other projects in the near downtown area. Maybe even a convention center expansion in the works eventually that could allow for a huge build there. In that case, I could understand how the developer would be kicking themselves for building a 10 story building on the site.
  16. I agree with this, but there were others here months ago that thought Columbus was a failure for even building the current version and not going bigger.
  17. So he doesn't really answer the question. He gives the current project timelines but doesn't actually say if those timelines have been affected by the virus. Were those the originally planned timelines or have they been altered? I know we had heard that the Market could break ground this year, but was that ever publicly official? I'm not sure. Maybe they always planned to break ground on the Market Tower next year and nothing has actually changed. Either way, a bit of a bummer for some of us that are impatient and wanted to see that starting this year.
  18. Yea, not really a great sign for NE Ohio that areas that higher earners would live are also declining. Looked at some of the affluent east side numbers and they all seem to be shrinking, too. On the west side, Avon and Avon Lake showed small gains. The data doesn't support what I've been told many times about more educated people moving in and less educated people moving out. Maybe, I'm missing something.
  19. Finally, some actual news from a commission meeting! I was getting antsy for some content. I can only take so much of watching Clevelanders post hypothetical Sherwin Williams skyscrapers.
  20. I actually grabbed some pictures the other day and totally forgot to post.
  21. @BigDipper 80 Actually responded to it
  22. I'm interested as well. I took a software development job up in Seven Hills after graduating from Ohio State a couple years ago. Worked there for around 8 months before taking another offer back in Columbus. I lived in Lakewood pretty close to that Barrio and it seemed like your hip, near downtown suburb where a lot of young professional families lived. Essentially, people who would like to be in the city, but need to send their kids to a better school. I'm not sure if people agree, but I usually compare it to Grandview. Seems like there is a lot of improvement going on in Cleveland catered towards young professionals. If that's the case, you'd think places like Lakewood would be thriving.
  23. Speaking of Newark being over 50k and Dublin approaching it, what are the stipulations for a suburb to become part of the MSA name? Similar to how Cleveland is Cleveland-Elyria, will we be seeing a Columbus-Newark or Columbus-Dublin anytime soon? I'm not really sure how that works and if it even has anything to do with the size of the suburb.
  24. Yea, I didnt realize this was just a list of all cities above 50k. Don't mind me over here being an idiot thinking you just arbitrarily chose 46k as your cutoff point.
  25. Isn’t Dublin higher than 46k? I don’t see it. Am I wrong?
