  1. Interestingly, they just posted a "Future of Eden Burger" post on Instagram. I thought it might be related to the sale of the building, but it was just coincidental timing. Actually, they were recently sued for trademark infringement by Eden Foods and now have to rebrand the whole restaurant after paying thousands in legal fees. They also mention staffing issues and inflation causing them to have to possibly close temporarily. Very bad timing for their building to also be sold. Here's the post: https://www.instagram.com/p/CbsyOG-OFpm/?utm_medium=share_sheet
  2. I'm sure the thinking is that there are plenty of trees for them to nest in. I don't think the trees in the area are all packed to the brim with bats. However, you can't bring down a tree that they are currently nesting in because then you'd be actively killing them.
  3. The trees aren't an endangered species. The bats are.
  4. What does this particular application mean in terms of progress/timeline?
  5. It really takes the excitement away that 2 of our projects that won are already in progress or nearly complete. Those obviously would have been completed, regardless. Would have really been nice to see some that are sitting on the backburner get the credits to move forward.
  6. Crain's Cleveland has an article up now saying Centennial was one of the winners, so the list must be available somewhere. Unfortunately, Crain's is behind a paywall.
  7. Near the beginning of this article by @KJP, there is a link to the full list: https://neo-trans.blog/2021/11/03/nine-of-44-tmud-applications-are-from-greater-cleveland/
  8. Yea, I'm extremely excited to see which projects get them.
  9. According to a post in the Cleveland random development thread, it looks like the projects being awarded funding will be announced March 2nd. So, hopefully some of these projects waiting around will kick into full gear after.
  10. Maybe they're redesigning it and looking to make it more units due to that increased demand?
  11. Jackie O's facebook post that construction is underway: https://www.facebook.com/169655293061983/posts/5558443764183082/
  12. If neighbors don't like this, they should run a sign campaign like the Whalers in GV did. Name and shame CVS and try to get people in the neighborhood to stop shopping there.
  13. At first, I read your comment and wondered what 2008 had to do with anything. Then, I realized 2008 was 14 years ago and now I'm sad.
  14. A lot of that outmigration from Cleveland is to college towns, so, probably young people leaving to go to college. Then, the outmigration from Columbus and Cinci is people graduating from OSU or UC and then moving to sunbelt metros for jobs. Just a guess.
  15. There was a post in the Columbus subreddit a couple days ago where the person was asking about the city and said they were coming from Canada. When asked where they were looking in one of the comments, they said New Albany and that they were moving here for Intel. It has definitely begun. Here's the post for anybody interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/Columbus/comments/snxptz/im_moving_to_columbus_this_week_anything_i_need/
  16. I wonder if it has to do with the fact that the floors of the Hilton were also poured concrete and the floors for this tower are steel. The mechanism for getting concrete to the top is in the elevator core. So, if you're also pouring the floors, it can't get too much higher. But, for the hospital, the cores are entirely independent of the steel floors being placed. So, it doesn't matter how much higher they are. It also might have to do with it taking a long time to get steel, which is why the cores are moving so much faster, when they'd normally keep pace.. I have absolutely no knowledge about this. Just guessing.
  17. NCH is just full steam ahead all over that area. It's impressive.
  18. 5 times seems low to me
  19. Yea, it always confuses me when people complain about the money the city/state has to put in for infrastructure for these projects. Not saying anybody here is doing it, but you see it all the time.
  20. I would imagine that Intel did a very extensive analysis of the risk before picking a site that they could eventually invest $100 billion into. This site is also right by data centers for Google, Facebook, and Amazon, each of which probably did their own extensive risk analysis of the area. So, I'm not too concerned.
  21. Haha yea, just joking. We definitely appreciate your dedication to getting us so many pictures around town.
