  1. Overall, I like the building as well, but I'm not quite sold on the ground floor bare concrete columns. I think something a little warmer to the eye would have been better.
  2. No, I was looking at those round things.
  3. I'm sorry, but I'm just not diggin' those art (?) pieces. Modern art is mostly awful.
  4. Wouldn't it be nice if we would design and build these today? People say costs prohibit this from happening, but were they rolling in dough back then?
  5. Gensler has added CMH to the aviation section on their homepage with many of their design projects for the world to see... Note the side bar with "in the media." https://www.gensler.com/projects/john-glenn-columbus-international-airport-terminal
  6. That is good news. However on the downside, according to CMH watchers on A.Net, both UA and AA are downsizing planes on some of their routes this summer taking a fairly significant number of seats with them. https://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1490151&start=250
  7. The next super load should start heading north from the Ohio River Wednesday April 10th. Here's there latest with routing from the state. EDIT: It looks like this April 10th information is the Franklin Co. routing. https://www.transportation.ohio.gov/about-us/traffic-advisories/district-9/superload?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery
  8. Or we could just build proven, reliable, efficient, steady clean coal, natural gas, or nuclear power plants and stop worrying about this
  9. The mega billionaire Bill Gates is getting a hellacious ROI thanks to taxpayers. Destroying 6,000 acres of some of the most fertile farmground in the world to install solar panels in one of the cloudiest states in the country. Just unbelievably corrupt and stupid.
  10. That's one of the more detailed photo's I've seen from the project.
  11. CbusOrBust and his trusty camera are first team All-America.
  12. Just my two cents, but I believe if you want long term, stable areas and neighborhoods which I think we all want, you have to have families in the mix. When I was young, I was very transient, moving almost yearly from one apartment to the next. It makes for unstable neighborhoods, but with families, they have a vested interest to strive and fight for the best for the area
  13. Where are all of the children going to go to school?
  14. This is Columbus?? WOW!! Is this Broad and High?
  15. Is the 900,000 pound number right?? That's 450 tons.
  16. I'm assuming all of the other sites around the country and world had the same logistics problems. I wonder if Ohio took some cues or got some tips from them?
  17. A little high altitude espionage. I like.
  18. “I’ve said this to our staff and challenged them, it has to be the best, most efficient terminal built in the world.” - Joseph R. Nardone, President & CEO, Columbus Regional Airport Authority I would think CMH would have the most current and efficient security system available in the new terminal. At least that's what Nardone is shooting for.
  19. It looks like they excavated for two of the fabs but only one is being constructed.
  20. Anyone have any guesses as to what these "large"pieces of equipment are going to be?
  21. In my eyes, the Short North cap has been so successful, I don't know why it's not SOP to include these in most if not all of the major overpasses around downtown Columbus
  22. What do all of you think about Samsung Electronics and TSMC getting American tax dollars to compete against American companies?
  23. Some other key notes from the article: - 60% design is complete. - The $250 mil covers design and implementation of pre-construction, baggage handling, utility corridor needs and other civil engineering concerns. - Work will begin this spring with a groundbreaking expected in early 2025. - CRAA wants to complete the terminal by 2029 in time for the airport's 100th anniversary.
  24. Local story from NBC4 about new flights from CMH and greater than expected demand flying out of Columbus. They also reiterate the new terminal should be done by late 2028 or early '29.
  25. I came up to Columbus to visit family from Charlotte this past Christmas and you can see the strides they've made on the roads around the project. With all of those cranes sitting there you would have thought to see more evidence of fab construction..
