From Saturday (6/14), you can now drive into the main public plaza area in Valor Acres, so I thought I’d grab a few photos of the buildings going up and the landscaping being put in. Don’t recommend going through if there are active workers just to be respectful - it happened to be an off day. It’s quite substantial in scale when you’re actually on the site! I read it as NOACA is simply not taking a side in the stadium debacle. They state in their letter they support improvements to road infrastructure in the region. What they do or do not support either way (in the interest of neutrality I reckon), is the end goal for making those improvements. Regardless of how you look at it, it's a sizeable proposed development project, and NOACA is one of the regional entities that is tasked with supporting these kinds of things I believe, alongside the local ODOT district office (12).

Putting my sleuthing cap on cuz I'm bored lol In my endless search through ODOT public documentation, hopefully this information helps clear things up somewhat in terms of timing of the trail/riverwalk portion of the ITB project: Exhibit A: NOACA's website lists the Franklin Blvd Enhancement as one of their Q3 2025 planning/funding goals. Exhibit B: The website then goes on to state that the Franklin Blvd improvements will take place alongside the construction of the Lake Link riverwalk/trail connecting the pieces of the Centennial Trail. It gives an ODOT PID number for the Lake Link project Exhibit C: Looking up PID CUY-89034 gives a timeline on the construction of the trail/riverwalk portion of the ITB project. To summarize, they are currently in the final engineering plans stage of the project, which is technically a separate project to the rest of the park improvements. Construction on the riverwalk/trail portion of ITB is therefore expected to start probably in April/May of 2026 to be complete by EOY 2026 (~8mo). Note: while construction on the trail is projected to end in November 2026, Q2 2027 is listed as another estimated completion date. This would line up with the most recent cleveland.com article. Exhibit D: A NOACA map shows what portions of ITB are included in the Lake Link Trail project in red. It will be designed and constructed with future connections to ITB trails, etc. already in-place In summary, the Lake Link/riverwalk and Franklin Blvd portions of ITB will be the first to be completed, and both likely completed concurrently by the end of 2026/beginning 2027. Everything else (yellow) will most likely be temporarily seeded (as we are seeing now) until the rest of the improvements are a go for construction. Went to Pride again this year and had an amazing time as always - big shoutout to the LGBT Community Center for putting on another great festival! After seeing that they estimated about 25-30k attendees for this year's festival, I was a little surprised and honestly a bit sad after researching that attendance is a lot lower than other festivals around the country, even ones in similar-sized cities. Granted, the festival has been growing significantly over the past couple of years which is awesome, but still... Is the reason for this simply that the festival has only been going on for *only 10 years this year, or is it something else? Curious if anyone in the know has any thoughts/analysis... Regardless, I always have an amazing time but I can't help but wonder why it isn't bigger and better 🌈 Can't wait to go again next year 🤩

Just a little update that the rails on the eastbound-running side (south side) of the Van Aken platform have been removed for platform relocation and minor earthwork is underway around where the new station building will be is also visible (06/07): Also, notice: the Blue/Green line E 79th station officially closes tomorrow for 12-14 months for construction of the new station!!
