  2. The proposed hotel/entertainment venue footprint of the next phase (Phase 1B) is outlined in red in comparison to the Thermal plant:
  3. While it would've been cool to repurpose I understand why it's kind of just in the way at this point in terms of a cohesive riverfront vision. Getting more and more concerned that we haven't heard anything about the next Bedrock phase though...
  4. It's been reported on by Crain's this year that as other metros become over-saturated with data centers, they are starting to look to Cleveland as the next boom place to develop them in Ohio: https://www.crainscleveland.com/real-estate/northeast-ohio-poised-data-center-expansions
  5. Can we not turn this into a Columbus thread
  6. Yeah at present, the only parts of the project I forsee happening alongside the initial stadium build out are the Parking lots Team Shop Operations building Hotel "Events space" Ped bridge to more parking Other than that it might be many many phases/years later before any residential and full retail buildout happens
  7. TL;DR from the paywalled article: A TRAC application for the improvements has been officially filed, application will be reviewed over this year Max Miller, in his letter of support, noted the roadway enhancements are expected to benefit both the Browns plan but also the Blue Abyss project next to NASA Glenn Grace Gallucci's letter to TRAC noted the critical importance of the improvements, but stopped short of a full endorsement of the project's intended goal NOACA would need to approve the infrastructure improvements separate from TRAC Chris Ronayne opposed to the funding request Mayor Orcutt is exploring other funding options for infrastructure improvements if the TRAC request is not granted
  8. Interesting. I'm guessing proposed parking by others then? There's no parking shown on the HSG master plan on the east side of 71
  9. One thing worth bringing up i.e Pedestrian Bridge - if they're going to invest in one why isn't it going to Cleveland Hopkins instead of the industrial area across I-71. HUH?! I will add, with the new CLE RTA station being moved closer to 237, the walking distance from the prop train station walking down to Snow Road, under 237, and to the stadium would be about a mile. I would probably take the red line to the airport in the future and walk that mile to avoid paying for parking, but a ped bridge over 237 seems like the no-brainer move here, not over 71.
  10. Roadway site layout for proposed $71 million in infrastructure upgrades to the network surrounding the Brook Park development: https://www.cleveland.com/news/2025/06/brook-park-seeks-71-million-for-roads-and-more-near-proposed-browns-stadium.html It appears as though a pedestrian bridge over I-71 to... who knows where, is proposed
  11. Northeast Ohio pulled above it's weight in funding for pedestrian and cycling infrastructure projects, making up 7 of the 20 projects statewide, or $9.5 million out of roughly $23 million (40%) in the first year (FY2026) of the Transportation Alternative's Program. clevelandDeWine announces $52 million for Ohio pedestrian and biki...Ohio communities will receive nearly $52 million in grants over the next four years to improve bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure. 13. So just to confirm then, this was still approved by council 13-2 right? And the articles are just saying that some members were opposed to it but it ultimately passed?
  14. The articles say 250, not 25 We gotta level set the discourse here because I already see it getting out of hand on other forums: My understanding (and I could be wrong) is that a 100k sqft data center employs like 20 people. This is a 2.2 million sqft data center, how could it possibly only employ 25 people? I have no doubt Amazon would overwork the employees to cut costs but we're talking orders of magnitude larger of an operation I could be wrong but the 25 number is not adding up to me...
  15. Right?! Makes me wonder if cleveland.com wrote the article before-hand and posted it too late? lmao
  16. Thanks for the clarification! My follow up question was, do we think there are the votes in council to actually reject this or is it an "empty" threat, like a minority of council said no to the shoreway removal last night but it ultimately passed?
  17. @KJP do you know what Quinn is referring to here? How many people on council are opposed to this? https://www.cleveland.com/news/2025/06/fortune-100-company-eyes-ix-center-but-cleveland-council-might-nix-deal-over-haslam-resentment.html "Today in Ohio podcasters can't believe Cleveland City Council might reject the deal, though, out of spite."
  18. I've always thought the classic cars section of the auto show was very nice but could warrant it's own, separate show - my family always ends up rushing through the classic cars section by the time we're spent from walking around the rest of the show. So potentially removing that from the equation, or at least maybe doing the classic cars on a separate weekend after the dealers clear out the new cars could free up some space in HCCC as well I was amazed how much of the I-X Center was closed off and how far around we had to walk from the back entrance to the front this year through the warehouse space. Such a waste of space to have those shows only use half at most of only one floor of the entire center.
  19. Great news. These projects while not employing a huge ton of people/sqft directly in the building do generate additional jobs indirectly in the region as well, and we need to keep up with the times in this region whether we like the data center use or not. Repurposing the I-X center also allows for precious undeveloped land in Cleveland MSA to be used for other purposes that aren't data centers. And on top of that, the idea of bringing additional conventions back downtown to offset a potential Browns loss is a win-win in my book. Huntington Convention Center needs to be on the phone like, yesterday, contacting all of the I-X conventions/shows to lock them in for downtown for the future.
  20. Unless the incoming bomb says "sorry, it's all a scam", the only reason I could think of saying "sorry" is apologizing to all the people who don't want a Fortune 100 company to bring jobs to the region and who want the I-X Center to stay open and draw investment and conventions away from downtown lol
  21. The articles clearly say Fortune 100, just FYI
  22. Side note: isn't this already a done deal? I mean everything news-wise I've read is saying construction on the new shoreway boulevard is gonna start in 2027. Maybe I misread the specifics though...
  23. I did my part. and boy did I have some choice words in the comment section ☠️
