Cleveland: Scranton Peninsula: Development and News
The official census tracts covering Scranton Peninsula bleed into Tremont, so at the moment I would say it is technically Tremont. Note they do not cover Ohio City at all. That doesn't mean in the future however that the peninsula won't become it's own true neighborhood (wishful thinking?) once enough things are built there

Cleveland: Hough: Development and News
With the Gordon Crossing news as well as Birthing Beautiful Communities center on Chester Ave and the Hough Community Green Space receiving planning commission final approval in the end of June, here's another in a string of positives for Hough recently with this news as well (sorry, it's paywalled): https://www.crainscleveland.com/real-estate/gina-merritts-hough-apartment-building-renovation-gets-funding Gina Merritt's Hough apartment building renovation clears fiscal roadblock

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I can't believe I have to post this lol but I was downtown Friday night and Saturday afternoon - both during 90+ degree days in a record-setting heat wave keep in mind - street activity was very elevated and plenty of people out and about, a combination of Guardians fans, Jazzfest attendees, and downtown residents. KJP's photo was captured on a Wednesday as well and doesn't do justice the street activity. I almost thought I was in Toronto today there were so many Blue Jays fans downtown and at the Rock Hall. Anywhoooo

Hopefully the Cavs facility and *potential* soccer stadium nearby would set a precedent to further interest in more public fields/sports facilities 🤞

Canal Basin Park and Lake Link Trail
Sounds right, here's the aerial from 2023 to compare: They haven't closed off West St yet which is why the central lawn oval is partially complete from part 1. Part 4 which is next would be the completion of the oval and the "forum pavilion" I reckon.

^Oh, the number of new apartment buildings and townhomes in Mayday's photo we could circle that didn't exist five years ago... 😍

Cleveland: Hotel Development
This is a public art piece put to planning commission maybe the previous or twice-previous meeting? I don't believe they are related. I'm kinda surprised they are this far along!

Other than that patch of the lawn, the landscaping around the entire Mall area looked very nice! lol

It's all subjective, but I think they're just fine. Besides, Bridgeworks would like a word.... lol

Cleveland: Scranton Peninsula: Development and News
At risk of repeating the overstated, these have to be the most important residential projects in the city atm, imo. I hate to imagine what would've happened if they weren't started when they were... I just drove by today after not seeing it in a long while and it's all very impressive. The finishes on the inland (NRP?) site in particular are admirable (I still remember when we all blasted the original concepts lol)

https://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2024/05/natures-oasis-to-open-natural-food-store-in-ohio-city.html Nature's Oasis which has locations in Van Aken and Lakewood is opening a third store in Church + State in Ohio City. A small format grocery store/café like this should be great for the area and also great that it's filling in prime retail space at Church + State

Shaker Heights: Van Aken District Transit Oriented Development
Other than the obvious answer of financing, do we have a reason why the Arcadia development hasn't started yet across Warrensville Rd? I just drove by this weekend and still nothing...

Cleveland: Ohio City: Bridgeworks Development
I'm HOPING that part of the unappeal of the project is the relatively poor level of rendering, and that the materials chosen will look better in person and in context. But that's a BIG hope...

When are they tearing down the abandoned billboard building on the corner of Detroit? Wasn't the deal on the property made a long time ago at this point?

I last updated the List of Tallest Buildings in Cleveland wiki in October to include SW and CC in progress images. The skyline photos could definitely use an update as you said (maybe someone has one we could use?) - the list itself of tallest buildings isn't updated until buildings (in this case SW) are actually "complete".

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
I'm doing some back-of-the-napkin SketchUp on the proposed stadium. I was curious specifically about the stadium being "underground" because of the flight restrictions. I took a model of SoFi Stadium and stripped it down to just the seats, field, and concourses (and did some Browns branding lol). Exhibit A. Then I took the model and placed it at the same "elevation" as best as I could match the rendering. In the rendering, it looks like only the uppermost deck of seats are above grade. Exhibit B. It looks like there is some mounding happening around the stadium raising the ground up as people walk towards the stadium. Whether this is the case or not, the measurements indicate that the field itself in the rendering is about 120-150' underground. For reference, the SoFi field is about 70-100' underground. Probably not useful information, but interesting nonetheless lol Once more renderings are out, I'll probably try and recreate the mixed use development in this model I already have going.

Cleveland 19 has picked up the story. No new information though from what I can tell. https://www.cleveland19.com/2024/05/01/browns-brook-park-dome-renderings-leaked/
