Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
^^If you go to the NBA website it literally says it's open to the public: "In addition to serving as the new home of the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Peak Performance Center will also be open to the public, serving as a vital community asset for all." "The Center plans to offer personalized expertise in training, treatment, nutrition, and recovery from Cleveland Clinic's professional medical specialists." Anyways, this looks amazing. Build it yesterday please 🤩 Edit: here is a quote from the Crain's article on the public facility resources "The center will offer comprehensive care for the general public, including athletes of all sports and levels, the team said. The facility will provide access to testing and high-tech training equipment and devices, along with professionals from a range of specialities, including orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, cardiology, pulmonology, exercise physiology, neurology, nutricon, psychology and genetics."

https://www.cleveland.com/metro/2024/03/cleveland-city-council-approves-creation-of-tax-district-paving-way-for-bibbs-massive-downtown-redevelopment-plans.html "CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland City Council on Monday unanimously approved Mayor Justin Bibb’s plan to create a special downtown taxing district to pay for an overhaul of the city center and the Lake Erie and Cuyahoga River waterfronts. The so-called “Shore-to-Core-to-Shore” tax increment financing district will allow the city to tap increases in property taxes downtown over the next 30 years."

Cleveland: Ohio City: Irishtown Bend Park
Anyone happen to know if they are performing the cut/fill grading for the proposed park as they stabilize the hillside or will that come later after all the bulkheads and stuff are complete? I could see it going either way...

It's a beautiful view! I sure hope something can be done to the bulkheads/riverfront by the apartments to really enhance it further.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Irishtown Bend Park
Yeah I think given the condition of the existing hillside the full extent of the progress probably wont be visible until the entire hillside is graded.

Ripped this from the video: Standouts are Chester Tower, City Circle Tower, and a 10-ish-story hotel!

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
I think there's a good chance the layout of the lakefront plan between the 60 and 90% stages will remain pretty much the same. Should the stadium move, my guess is they would just set the old stadium land aside for additional low/mid-rise residences and tie into the rest of the new recreational form instead of drastically revising the entire plan.

Looks like the administration and the city have reached a "compromise" on TIF: ‘Hundreds of millions’ headed to Cleveland neighborhoods: Mayor, council president reach apparent compromise on downtown TIF money https://www.cleveland.com/metro/2024/02/hundreds-of-millions-headed-to-cleveland-neighborhoods-mayor-council-president-reach-apparent-compromise-on-downtown-tif-money.html "The numbers floated Thursday by Bibb and Griffin are broad and lack specificity. But they would likely fall far short of Griffin’s original 50% idea. In the compromise framework currently under discussion between City Council and the mayor, Griffin said he anticipates “as much as 35% of the excess” TIF revenues would go to neighborhoods." 35% is certainly nothing to laugh at, to me it seems reasonable to still get the big waterfront and downtown projects going but also 35% of $7.5 bil over the next 40 years is over $2.5 bil in neighborhood improvements.

If it helps, I know a local station (WKYC?) had an update segment yesterday (can't find the video at the moment) and the guest they brought on said the City is looking to "finalize a deal" by the end of the first quarter if I remember correctly. Don't take my word for it though lol

@NorthShore647 can I use inspiration from the proposals to add to my engineering site plans in the works?

I'm going to throw something together on this.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Any future stadium would need about 1000'x1000' of lot to fit in, which is roughly what the current stadium sits on. The Muni Lot is only 200' at its WIDEST, immediately bounded by train tracks and then the grade change of the terrain after that. Near impossible.

All of this discussion is giving me whiplash and heart palpitations, just like watching a Browns game. I'm only in my 20s y'all my body can't afford this 😭 I want to hear more about the "insider info" that the site was bought for a non-stadium development before we jump to further conclusions - I feel like that crucial information posted by @BelievelandD1, @WindyBuckeye, and @YABO713was unduly overlooked in the midst of everyone panicking and rolling out their pushpin-string crime scene investigation conspiracy theory boards. It could be wrong sure but still...

Hopefully the project gets back to the planning commish soon - those parking lots can't disappear fast enough.

Cleveland SC Soccer Stadium
Not really. Like I mentioned, KC stadium cost 120, so if that is normal then 150 is also normal. Also, Lower.com Field (Columbus Crew stadium) cost over twice as much (315 million).

Cleveland SC Soccer Stadium
https://www.cleveland.com/news/2024/02/plans-underway-to-build-new-pro-womens-soccer-stadium-near-downtown-cleveland.html "Plans are underway to build a new stadium near downtown Cleveland designed to help bring a professional women’s soccer team to the city, according to one of the developers behind the project. Should the National Women’s Soccer League award Cleveland an expansion team, the stadium could be completed as early as 2026, said Michael Murphy, co-founder and CEO of Cleveland Soccer Group, LLC, in an interview. The cost of the stadium, which Murphy said is expected to be in the ballpark of $150 million, would be covered partially by team owners and partially by local or state funding. The Ohio House on Wednesday voted to put $1 million in state funding toward the stadium. Murphy said a couple different sites near downtown Cleveland are being considered for the stadium site, though he declined to provide further details. State Rep. Bride Rose Sweeney, a Westlake Democrat, said one site under consideration is close to Progressive Field and The Western Reserve Fire Museum and Education Center." Personal Edit: Since they mentioned Kansas City Current's new stadium as a comparison I looked it up, their new stadium cost ~120 million so the projected 150 million is very reasonable/realistic.

Suburban Cleveland: Development and News
For those of you interested in following Solon's Harper Rd./422 Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) saga: https://www.cleveland.com/community/2024/02/solon-council-approves-contract-with-odot-for-us-422-interchange-project.html The project was approved by Solon City Council. Construction is supposed to start later this year. DDIs are really cool interchanges that are becoming more popular. There are currently only two operating in Ohio (one in Columbus and one in Toledo), with a third being built in Athens. The one in Solon would become the fourth in the state. Just something cool I thought I'd share! I-475/OH-25 in Toledo I-270/Roberts Rd in Columbus Here is a picture of the last known proposal drawing for the Solon DDI:
