  7. A little TL;DR to the article posted by simplythis: Two-thirds of 43 respondents — all members of the state House or Senate and all participating anonymously — answered "no" to this question: “Should lawmakers support the Cleveland Browns’ proposal to fund construction of a new stadium through state bond?” Pollsters consider this a good response rate, and a good polling representation of the General Assembly. Pollsters said the results showed that only 35% of Republican respondents were in favor of the measure, while 46% were against and 19% were undecided. All Democrats who responded were not in favor of the bond measure.
  8. Great photo from cleveland.com of ITB. Something we haven't been able to capture as a forum is the infill happening behind the bulkheads on the far right of the image!
  9. Sounds like a interesting roadway/development project in North Ridgeville is in the works, not dissimilar to what occurred in Green on Massillon Rd: https://www.cleveland.com/community/2025/04/north-ridgeville-schedules-public-hearing-for-gateway-project.html https://www.nridgeville.org/GatewayNorthRidgeville.aspx North Ridgeville schedules public hearing for Gateway project TL;DR Replace almost every intersection in the area with a roundabout, including the on and off ramps of Lorain/I-480 Better sidewalk infrastructure Complete the Cypress Ave extension to Lorain Rd Replace the Lorain/Lear Nagle intersection with an RCUT Info session at LCCC campus on Lorain Rd on May 12, 6 PM

Maybe a future update with those numbers will come!

  16. I could probably scroll through this thread, but could anyone refresh me on what two projects are going on on either side of Detroit at Brockley/Orchard Grove Ave? Drove past yesterday and was surprised to see all the dev sites in progress, but I'm drawing blanks lol

  18. Haha trust me I'm just as worried about the draft lol I will say, the "front on" angle seeing both sides of the crown is the least flattering, and typically the one people take the most photos of because its the angle facing Public Square. IMO, every time I drive into the city, especially going north into downtown on I-77 or SR-176, I enjoy seeing the building's impressive stance and it really does wonders for the skyline!!! It's hard to get an angle from that direction thought because ofc, I'm driving lol If you're ever back in town and have reason to drive into downtown, then I recommend taking one of those routes if you're curious to see it!

  20. This timely article dropped as workforce was being discussed in another thread. Hopefully this isn't too far off topic - I think it's def related though: https://www.cleveland.com/news/2025/04/keys-to-countering-clevelands-workforce-shortage-keep-more-college-students-convert-visitors-to-residents.html Keys to countering Cleveland’s workforce shortage: Keep more college students, convert visitors to residents TL;DR In 2023, 50% of new college graduates in Northeast Ohio stayed in the region, up from 47% in 2021. In 2023, Destination Cleveland surveyed 2,500 working-age adults in nine cities, including New York, Chicago, Atlanta, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Detroit, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Columbus. It found that 42% indicated a willingness to relocate to Cleveland. The alliance hopes to increase that percentage to 46% by 2030. “Cleveland is a big college town,” said Shah, with 190,000 students at 22 higher education institutions – more than any other region in the state, including Columbus. If Northeast Ohio were to retain 55% of those students after graduation, that would equate to an extra 3,000 young people per year in the workforce, according to Shah. Despite the Northeast Ohio’s relatively stagnant population, Shah noted that the region is attracting more college-educated young people, citing recent research by ADP, Renthop.com and BusinessNameGenerator.com. “Our region is starting to get recognized as a destination for young professionals,” he said.

https://www.crainscleveland.com/sports-recreation/cleveland-monsters-again-lead-ahl-attendance Fueled by record attendance, Monsters’ business is booming "The Monsters, now in their 18th season in Cleveland, shattered the franchise’s single-season attendance record with an AHL-leading average of 11,438 fans per game. That was 1,500 more than the AHL's second-highest figure (9,925 by the Laval Rocket) and more than 1,000 higher than the Monsters' previous record of 10,347, set last year."
  24. Don't think this has been bumped yet: https://www.cleveland.com/news/2025/04/metroparks-envisions-new-life-for-cleveland-flats-riverfront.html Metroparks envisions new life for Cleveland Flats riverfront with this big project TL;DR Cleveland Metroparks is asking potential developers to dream up how to meld new residential or commercial spaces with new public access to the Cuyahoga River in the Flats. Metroparks on Monday issued a request for proposals to develop 4.29 acres it has acquired between the Center Street (Swing) Bridge and the Metroparks’ Merwin’s Wharf restaurant. Metroparks will retain 30 feet closest to riverbank to build a public trail extending from Settlers Landing on the north side of the Center Street Bridge Proposals are due back by June 6. The work could be years away. A better timetable won’t be known until after a developer – or developers – are selected and plans are hashed out, McDermott said. “Our goal would be in the next five years, but that’s a goal,” McDermott said.
