Cleveland: East Side Neighborhood Development
Walking around the area is pretty depressing. But desolate also means potential. And go just north of this and you have the almost entirely empty blocks around Ashland and the old Westinghouse building. That's my dream development area, great opportunity

Cleveland: East Side Neighborhood Development
Another development, though a small one: 6215 Quincy in Central is being rehabbed. It's 6 units and 2 storefronts though I'm yet unsure if the storefronts are included in the rehab. It might be small, but this is an old building that needs a lot of work. This is an awesome indicator of more market development coming back to yet another east side neighborhood.

Almost forgot about this one: Giancarlo Calicchia, Italian-American stone sculptor who lives in Cleveland bought the Corlett Movers building. It's about 240,000 sq ft. I'm told that he plans to use it for sculpting and possibly some kind of artists organization along the lines of Ingenuity. I'll try to get more refined details soon.

Cleveland: Slavic Village: Development and News
At first I thought the movement was just part of the movie filming already going on by the intersection, but I now have been informed that renovation is ongoing at the building Inca Tea will be going into.

Cleveland: Hough: Development and News
1. Thank you so much. With three major developments going on and a couple more possible ones in early stages right now, this was sorely needed. 2. It's confusing because they show two plans for the League Park Apartments, but I'm pretty sure the chosen plan was this one With 3 floors each and 7 buildings, we're looking at 60 new units in the neighborhood.

Cleveland: Hough: Development and News
I've learned to not be too optimistic about development in the area but I'm hesitantly hoping LDA does something urban and hinting towards the historical apartments of the area. At the very least, it'll be better than Innova/Residence Inn. Such a car centric front with a poorly planned sidewalk. Like a desire path if it was grass, almost everyone I see ends up just walking in the car lane/parking when going past the building.

On the upside, another location of Cleveland Bagel Company.

Cleveland: Hough: Development and News
Seems to be, but the plan is now for an apartment building instead of offices. LDA Architects have designed a lot of awesome apartment buildings such as Church+State so I'm excited to see this.

Cleveland: Hough: Development and News
http://planning.city.cleveland.oh.us/designreview/brd/detailDR.php?ID=3343&CASE=EC 2019-055 Another project in Hough, also vague with little info on it and its exact location. This one's part of the Euclid Corridor Design meeting on the 31st. Not sure why though, the location given should put it in the Northeast.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Breen is also pretty well maintained with updates throughout the years. Just this month they finished the addition of a new microbiology lab and submitted plans to replace the roof of the building. And using this building and land they already own would definitely lower costs on the new HQ. With the amount they won't need to spend, maybe they'll just save the money or maybe they'll pump it into slightly increasing the size of the project but that's just speculation.

Cleveland: Hough: Development and News
My guess is that it's on all of the land bank owned space on E 65th between the two avenues. Delving further into research of the organizations involved, Ubiquitous Design LTD has done a number of small projects and designed the African American Cultural Garden and WRJ Developers is a brand new organization made up of a bunch of other groups. The area of Hough has seen quite a lot of newly constructed "mini mansions" in the past couple decades from wealthy black professionals moving back to the neighborhood, but to my knowledge, this is the first multifamily in recent years. This development also seems notable as one of the only black lead new construction development groups in Cleveland.

http://planning.city.cleveland.oh.us/designreview/brd/detailDR.php?ID=3342&CASE=NE 2019-040 This new development in Hough is going before the northeast drc on the 29th. Not many details but its a multifamily building a couple blocks east of E 55th. Anyone know more?

Damn I saw this on loopnet a couple days ago but didn't realize it was new. This seems like the most likely point we've ever been at to actually see nucleus finally happen.

Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
Mostly car free person here! Living in University Circle, it's honestly super easy! Save for a couple cartrips out of state, I very rarely use my car and never use uber. Last time I used my car otherwise was in July to go to a restaurant in Lakewood. Oh and don't forget about the new Dave's in midtown for groceries. Also J&L Market Garden right next to uptown for affordable produce.

I still wish we had a more professional, formalized news site about Cleveland development the way that Curbed is for other cities. Dreams aside, Ken you never fail to amaze me with what you do.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway: Battery Park
I'm not sure if anyone else noticed it, but I just noticed that there was some motion around Battery Park in August. Parcels in the area set aside for future develop were reorganized. These properties are highlighted above. The green parcel was then given to the City of Cleveland this month. Part of this green parcel will be a road going through the development. The box shaped portion of the green parcel is J & M International which I guess is going to remain?

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Ill never fully understand the obsession with height. Better to have a city filled with midrises throughout like many historic European cities than a small area of supertall buildings and the rest being low density.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
The Hope Lodge at 11432 Mayfield Rd will possibly be expanding soon if the city approves their recently submitted permit. The lodge (which provides housing for cancer patients) has been raising funds to add new common space and an additional 11 new suites to their already existing 31. https://www.cancer.org/treatment/support-programs-and-services/patient-lodging/hope-lodge/cleveland/help-fund-improvements.html
