True. It does get kind of hilly to the east though.
  2. What are they putting in it's place? I loved that thing, it gave a sense of character to Westerville. Now it will just be like all of the other bland, cookie-cutter suberbs of Columbus.
  3. Ahhh, if Columbus would improve it's trasportation primarily the addition of a rail system of any kind, add more large luxury hotels, and continue on with the airport expansion. I don't see why not. Plus, there is still a ton of land up for grabs in the metro counties. However, I don't see residents wanting to pay higher taxes just for the olympics.

I don't like the whole county-city merger idea. It creates false perceptions about the size of cities. However, I do like the New England system where metro areas are run as a whole. It could help cut through a lot of red tape and give any metro counties that are dragging their heels on important issues that effect the entire region a kick in the ass.

I can see the Columbus skyline from west Newark, about 25 miles away.

I kind of like the smoking ban. When I smoked I hated the smoking ban but ever since I quit I like it. I don't have to come home reeking of smoke! However, I definetly symphasize with the smokers. It sucks having to go out into the cold just to smoke a cigarette. It's ok though, according to "The Other Paper" only like 20% of bars are enforcing the law. I still see people lighting up all the time, just not quite as much.
  7. I really hope the county's roadways are upgraded soon to accomodate all of this new construction along Route 23. It already next to impossible to make a turn off of 23 without getting run over.
  8. I have to disagree David, in my opinion The Bottoms actually has quite a large number of nice historic buildings. It's just that most of them are so dilapidated and boarded up that no one pays attention to the area. Hopefully the area will see a revival soon and we will see many of those building rehabbed. I know there are plans to build condos at the corner of Town St. and Belle St.
