  1. Well, it is southwest of Cleveland ;)
  2. Was watching "Dora and Friends" (The Magic Ring episode- amazing, would highly recommend!) with my 2 year old today, and noticed that the city skyline silhouette in the closing credits was quite clearly Cleveland, OH. Were on the map with the toddler scene.
  3. The reality is that all of the candidate sites deserved the credit, they are all cultural gems. Unfortunately, there could be only one winner. I have a feeling in the next round of "catalyst" investment CLE will be rewarded.
  4. I just got Jarboed! I had never seen that word/usage in print before. I humbly stand corrected :) Now back to topic! max
  5. Had my wedding reception on Gay St, shout out to the Vault.

In the World 1. Cleveland 2. Columbus 3. Cincinnati 4. Toledo 5. Tie: Dayton/Akron Honorable Mention: Pittsburgh, Detroit, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Wheeling, Youngstown, Altoona All other places can suck it!
  7. Just moved back to C-bus from Nashville (Germantown neighborhood) 5 months ago- lived there for the past 5 years. The Gaylord Opryland Hotel/Complex is a machine, and is not going away anytime soon. Everybody (generalization) over 40 goes there for there Nashville "experience", with frequent buses/shuttles to Broadway and other sites. They also just reopened the mall. They also just spent a sh*t ton of money renovating/rehabbing mall and complex from the floods of April 2010, that place is going to be there for a long time. I think Gaylord also is partner in the new CC Hotel. Exit/Inn is still there. Interestingly, I always thought the traffic in Nashville was much easier then any of the 3C's rush our traffic (lived in all 3). Their is a ton of new residential construction in the downtown core and expanding out from there (down Broadway/Westend, the Gulch, Germantown, SoBro, 12South, Charlotte ave) and I think it is becoming a much more urban city. Its the "popular" southern city now, previously Atlanta-->Charlotte.

    Very Strange location.
  10. It sounds like they plan on keeping the HQ here (good luck for NEO that they just started building there new HQ here), I would assume most of the corporate jobs would stay with the HQ. With Ireland's economy in the shambles, austerity planning currently, I wonder if there corporate taxes will stay that low.
  11. I actually think this is pretty funny.

Yeah Germantown!- its my hood. You never leave Monell's hungry, by the way. I would argue that parts of Nashville are *very* charming. The neighborhoods over in East Nashville maybe the most so. Although I agree there is no place like OTR or German Village in Nashville. Part of the issue are these southern cities not on the coast are so much younger, and were not truly large cities until relatively recently, they never received the waves of immigrants that tended to build these sorts of locations.
  13. Schulman plant closing in Nashville will cut 60 jobs Good news for Ohio, bad new for Tennesse http://www.tennessean.com/article/20110827/BUSINESS/308270035/Schulman-plant-closing-Nashville-will-cut-60-jobs?odyssey=mod|newswell|text|FRONTPAGE|s
  14. Lubrizol would fall of that list, because it would become part of Berkshire-Hathaway.
