  1. That building, with obvious renovations/upgrades, would make awesome condos.
  2. I think when they wrote pedestrian they may have meant "private" traffic, as opposed to "public" traffic like busses, cabs, rickshaws, etc.... At least I hope this is what they meant. They may not know what pedestrian means.

    X, you made my day!
  5. Aglamesi's is very good in Cinci. So is Quirke's in Painesville/Kirtland. Damn, I love icecream!
  6. If there were just Zombies in the fourground, stumbling about, yelling for "BRAINS", I would buy one.
  7. I do enjoy the nuclear winter background.
  8. Just on a side note, I brought a pineapple up to a cash register at the Marc's in Painesville. The 16-18 year old cashier guy looked at it, looked at me, and looked at the pineapple again. I did not know what was going on until he looked at me, confused, and asked "What in the hell is that thing?". I thought he was joking, and said a pineapple. He said "No way, I never new they looked like that, do you have to peel it?" I left stunned, but with my pineapple.
  9. Total random shot here, but does anybody think of Cimperman as future mayor potentialship here?
  10. Again, our state universities compare well with any other state's universities. Other than California and New York, which state has better large (>10,000 students) public universities than Ohio? I think it would be impossible to definetively pick another state.
  11. I don't think you should be so surprised. Most states (with the exception of California and New York) have one higher ranking public university that is considered "top-notch", Ohio actually has Miami and OSU putting it ahead of most states. Plus other than Case, and possibly Xavier, Ohio does not have any "large" private institutions that could possibly be considered in the running as "top notch". I also believe that something like 75% of the schools in the top 50 are located on the East Coast. This has a lot to do with these schools simply having been around longer than others in the country, maintaining their name recognition and reputation, and having high donation rates. Ohio also has an abundance of smaller liberal arts colleges and some of those are quite highly ranked. The number of institutions, big and small, in Ohio is actually quite amazing. What should really be looked at his how Ohio campares to the rest of the midwest -- Illinois in front followed closely by Michigan and Ohio.
  12. Has anybody tried the Green Papaya on the corner of Wasson and Paxton (and Drakewood) yet? I think it just opened this weekend.
  13. "Lifestyle centers are inhabited by upscale restaurants, not a food court," Davidowitz said. "That's the key. It's P.F. Chang's. It's Cheesecake Factory. It's much more upscale fare." -Upscale Restaurants?, I find that kind of amusing.
  14. This is one of those situations where when I first saw the plans, images and bludeprints, I was not at all impressed. The actual structure, however, puts the original visuals to shame. It is much better in person. I enjoy parking on the 8th floor of the Eden garage everday and observing the progress. Great building!
  15. How about "THE Euclid Avenue"
  16. Easton is open. The happy hour special I took advantage of was two regular price drinks (any kind), then $2 appetizers til happy hours over.
  17. They do leave it on the vine to freeze. I suggest to anybody that's interested to go visit Chalet Debonne and the Ferrante wineries in Western Lake County. They will tell you all you could want to know about their wine. Interestingly, Cincinnati the magazine had a good article about NEO wines/wineries a couple months back. Funny, since it is in Cleveland's backyard.
  18. As a man that enjoys scratch off lotto tickets while guzzling gin, YES, one more place. Please? ;)
  19. Got a question. Do any of the legal minds on this forum know if the recent Ohio Supreme court decision on eminent domain in norwood will have an effect on the eminent domain proceedings for the Flats e. bank plans?

^or because they work at wal-mart and make low-low wages, so they can only afford wal-marts low-low prices.
  21. Agree with KJP. Plus, its the couples without children and the well-off bachelors ;) that can afford to buy at that price. These type of developments are for people with money to burn. Downtown generally attract the trendy, and nothing kills trendy like a family, j/k. Plus, other than Manhattan and chicago (???), are there any downtowns that are really "friendly" places for families to live? People with kids generally think they need yards, and crap :) Now, attracting more families to the near west-side with new condos/townhomes and rehabs will/should occur and is probable.
  22. Thank God Chagrin Falls got some dough to fight those thugs and gang-bangers that are destroying there property values! wtf
  23. Now thats a cool pic! Is stone bridge 5 topped out yet, or are there a couple more stories to go?
