This is exactly why we need legislative reform. Why attach a totally unrelated item to a bill that could potentially be a poison pill?

Cleveland: Hough: Development and News
I'm sorry, but this is just awful. It looks like a light industrial complex along Brookpark Rd., or in Independence or Solon. These can't be market rate. The previous renderings were at least "Inspir"-ational."

One of the great benefits of living on the Gold Coast in the 80's was having easy access to Pier W, which at the time was owned by Stouffers (along with John Qs, Top of the Town). I guess the Biggers have divested all interest in Vernon Stouffers' jewels. Glad to hear it's still open.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
All financial metrics are stellar. We're ready for the big reveal... https://seekingalpha.com/article/4392385-sherwin-williams-take-annualized-return-of-15-in-2021-and-beyond

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
When you look at SW current HQ compared to where it will be moving to in the photo, the difference is like night and day. The impact on the CBD will be enormous. It's a dramatic difference!

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
Great news! That stretch of lower Prospect was always dark, foreboding and full of questionable characters at night.

...and the PH floor. Tremendous improvement though.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
While I think most would appreciate "any" development at "that" site being fantastic but, a 24-story commercial office building (v3.0), at "that" location, is less than exciting when there are residential buildings in the CBD that surpass it in height and design.

^ Potentially great news for the Centennial and Millinnia Cos. I simply no longer get excited about news for the Nucleus project; I'm afraid its luster has simply worn off.

Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport
I think the decision to place BKL on the lakefront decades ago was a huge mistake. Unfortunately it also takes decades to get FDA approval to mothball an airport. Also as I recall, BKL was built atop landfill so while appealing, building towers there may not even be feasible.

^ I'm afraid I would have to disagree. River Point in Chicago is an attractively designed glass tower. A similar spectacular design would be a stunning addition to Public Square and serve as a counter-balance to 200 PS.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Centennial (925 Euclid Redevelopment)
NYC LEARNS LESSONS FROM CLEVELAND Recent news reports have indicated that NYC is examining lessons from Cleveland's conversion of office space to housing playbook. As a result of COVID-19, work-from-home options and out migration, there is a major surplus of Class B and Class C office space in Midtown Manhattan. Similar to plans for the 925 Building in Cleveland, as well as numerous other office-to-housing conversions, vacant office buildings in Midtown Manhattan are now ripe for conversion into more affordable housing, in a city desperately in need of affordable housing options. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-11-02/should-manhattan-s-offices-turn-into-housing https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/01/business/commercial-real-estate-conversion-coronavirus.html

Cleveland: Wind Turbine Construction News
Meanwhile California's Wind Farms, in existence since the Carter Administration, have overcome political, environmental and economic barriers and have even been upgraded and modernized. https://earther.gizmodo.com/californias-hills-are-haunted-by-the-ghosts-of-wind-ene-1845534109

^ Love seeing the line of voters in front of the BOE, exercising their right to vote!
-
Cleveland: Downtown: John Hartness Brown Buildings / Euclid Grand
Even though I initially had concerns about the faux stone treatment on the upper levels of the easternmost building, the real stone at ground level gives it a richer and more modern appearance compared to the others. While it's a single development, each building was originally designed to appear to be separate and they still do. Overall, a great project. I love what they're doing. It does indeed restore some of the grandeur to Euclid Avenue.

Cleveland: Downtown: Mall Development and News
The malls used to be much more inviting when they still contained the Hanna Fountains and the roadways around them were tree-lined.

Connecticut Western Reserve
^ It's already happened and it continues to happen! I'm a perfect example. I left NEO at 18 for undergrad in California (not at all interested in OSU-Columbus, UC, MU or CWRU), only to return for a brief residency at CCF. I settled in NYC and am now semi-retired in FL. I guess living in the "bastions of liberalism" has warped my brain but I would never consider a move back to Ohio. Never. Been there, did that....twice. I'll always love NEO. Despite having Universal and DW up the road, Cedar Point is still my favorite. The State of Ohio is just too backwards, dysfunctional and places the needs of rural Ohio before its cities.

^ The easiest solution is for citizens to just bail on the State of Ohio. Its reflected in the declining population.

Cleveland: Downtown: Cleveland-Cliffs HQ
I think we'd be hard pressed to find any large corporation that would be interested in Stark's on again, off again Nucleus project. There's simply too much vasilation and unpredictability. The Ellipse, which is one of my favorite buildings, sounds like the perfect site to meet Cleveland Cliffs' HQ needs.

Cleveland: Downtown: Gateway District: Development and News
The former Ohio Bell building at the top of the bluffs is one of my favorite downtown buildings. Is there a reason its having so many difficulties finding tenants?
-
Cleveland: Downtown: The Centennial (925 Euclid Redevelopment)
^ Let's hope that this gem of Cleveland history is properly maintained. It's too important of a structure to be neglected, regardless of who occupies the residences. I would think that such a property in Millenia's "home town" would be very well maintained.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
^ Bottom line is that the stretch of Lakeside, east of East 9th Street is full of possibilities for future growth and development (actually, everything north of St. Clair beyond E. 12th). Perhaps an extension of what has started with the Avenue District will prove to be increased development in that area of the CBD.

^ A sports radio station or a sports bar, similar to the former ESPN Zones?
-
Cleveland: Downtown: John Hartness Brown Buildings / Euclid Grand
I don't recall what happened. Were they forced to remove the original stone facade? Was the condition for that building that poor?
-
Cleveland: Downtown: John Hartness Brown Buildings / Euclid Grand
I wouldn't say they look bad, from this point of view, just different and that's okay because they represent five seperate, but attached, buildings. Mack34 did mention upthread that the last building used some kind of vinyl siding which has the appearance of stone.
