  1. Sounds like that small parcel was problematic for the previous owners (L&R) as well. All told, it may have been in need of repair for almost a decade or more.
  2. The influence that Connecticut has had on Cleveland is absolutely measureable. People from Hartford, CT sound like Clevelanders, not like they're from suburban New York or Boston.
  3. I just can't understand why they would only have the east-facing side with the verticle strips unless, it being at the gateway to Playhouse Square and consistent with its name, they intend to incorporate a nightime light feature.
  4. Maybe they plan to have uplighting at night?
  5. Are the white strips only on one side of the building?
  6. That's significantly higher. Love it!
  7. Sounds like the City is getting fed up too!
  8. "The labor pool in the region doesn't match the jobs that are being created. This is a problem that needs to be addressed." This quote hits the nail on the head! It's an educational issue. What is being done, from an educational perspective, to prepare Cleveland residents for the jobs of this economy?
  9. Meanwhile he's moving forward with his development in Pittsburgh.
  10. Been there, did that. Remember Municipal Stadium which the Indians and Browns shared?
  11. So the City wants the building renovated and Stark claims it will cost $6M to do so. Sounds a bit adversarial to me. If so, another bad sign for Nucleus project.
  12. A lot of testosterone in that statement. lol
  13. They already are on a trajectory to become the undisputed leader. The only thing lacking is a bright, shiny new HQ.
  14. It sounds as though SW could utilize its extensive resources to develop a very unique urban campus, similar to PPG Place, that makes an architectural statement and establishes its leadership in corporate Cleveland. I love the stainless globe sculpture concept!
  15. More brown and beige, but at least they're being built.
  16. Isn't the combination of the PS site and Superblock large enough to be used to develop an urban campus; one that includes towers, parking and a campus-like environment?
  17. With so many Jack Casino executives leaving for Bedrock, it makes one wonder if Jack Casino is soon to be on the blocks like the ones in Cincinnati...
  18. Absolutely!
  19. I remember reading somewhere that Cleveland was the only city of its size to have three major professional sports team facilities in CBD.
  20. The fact that it's even being built is amazing. Better to build something bright and reflective vs another drab brown or beige building. The days of the industrial valley soot and smoke turning all of the downtown buildings black are over.
  21. If he doesn't announce ground-breaking, I hope it's to announce property sale to a developer who can deliver.
  22. Good! As the previous multi-year reigning NBA champs, they've deserved a much nicer arena than the dump they've been playing in.
  23. If the project is phased, it may provide Stark/J-Dek with the opportunity to do more in the long-term than they are attempting to do in a single project.
