  1. To provide high-quality, temporary accomodations while awaiting unit completion is indicative of a top notch organization. It demonstrates that they really care about their new tenants. I have nothing but the highest regard for the PHSF for many reasons. This is just one of them. They are first class all the way!
  2. At this very moment, downtowns in most major American cities are deserted. Until people in this country stop their childish, selfish, "muh freedom" antics, accept the fact that we are in the midst of a global pandemic, and begin to follow public health official recommendations of social distancing/public mask wearing, our economy and that of our CBDs will never fully recover. Even the EU recognizes the risks that US citizens pose on their continent.
  3. It seems like this project has been going on for a couple of years. Two years ago I was visiting my aunt and walked past this development to catch the rapid to the airport.
  4. Is that the foundation for a crane that I'm seeing in the center of the hole?
  5. As always great photos. These however are of that seldom captured south and east side that have the verticle stripes. From these vantage points, it looks like a completely different building. The city could use a few more of these.
  6. ^ Local community leadership and for the State of Ohio to stay out of any decision making process, except for possible funding. Obstructionists are not welcome.
  7. Not sure where this Studio West 117 development should go since it borders Cleveland/Lakewood. https://m.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2020/06/23/developers-unveil-plans-for-studio-west-117-a-nonprofit-project-and-complex-to-support-clevelands-lgbtq-community
  8. New $15M affordable housing development going in adjacent to Metrohealth Campus. https://trib.al/UqfUHPj
  9. Any updates on the garage's curtain wall? How it is to be used to advertise events.
  10. ^ You and mrclifton88 have this down to a science. Beautiful photos guys!
  11. ^Just waiting to see some of these from your keen eye ASPhotoman. It looks better now then it did as the May Company.
  12. It still appears to be in pretty good shape and well maintained.
  13. ^ NYC has community garden projects, maintained by various community groups and they are well maintained and popular.
  14. Then the politicians need to give the unions an ultimatum: clean the $%#! streets and medians or we'll have them cleaned. It's an eyesore! So what, it's ok to have weeds and year-old trash in these areas? Do the union bosses even live in the City or downtown?
  15. I think this is a great idea. It provides ROI and gives unemployed folks some interim employment in exchange for the money they receive. I know they must also look for employment, but it could at least be temporary and part-time.
  16. Throughout this pandemic, SW has been hard at work, delivering paints and supplies in S. Florida. While there's a lot of Q2-Q4 uncertainty, I always see their little blue vans and trucks everywhere on the roads. It makes me Cleveland proud!
  17. ^ Just another example, in a very long string, of State decisions that inhibit NEO from moving forward. The State of Ohio has been and continues to be NEO's greatest obstacle. The State of Ohio is one of, if not the most non-progressive states in the North-Central Region. In some respects, even Indiana is more forward thinking; at least they landed Salesforce and a brand new IND. Ohio is so tied to relic industries and antiquated rural interests instead of investing in the future and growth opportunities. It's so pathetic.
  18. Very nice architectually, but unless it has changed since I last took the ferry over, Fire Island-Cherry Grove/The Pines caters to an entirely different clientele vs FEB. The current design does have somewhat of an "industrial" feel to it, that does make it compatible with the Flats.
  19. Love the diversity. Its difficult to discern, but are those lights halfway up the facade of the buildings? The last building appears to have four? If so, what an unusual place for lighting?
  20. With the pandemic and the protests, how are the FEB establishments doing?
  21. ^ I remember that during the winter, waves would come up over the break wall and freeze, leaving icicles hanging over the barrier and onto the Shoreway. Great to see this open up, since BKL isn't moving.
  22. If it's any consolation, this has occured in every major city in the US; even shops on Rodeo Drive and Melrose in West Hollywood and Beverly Hills were not immune to the vandals and looters. Cleveland is not alone. We experienced the same destruction in Miami and surrounding communities. It does appear however that we are revisiting the same issues that sparked the Hough Riots and other rioting in the 60s. Have we learned nothing in the past 60 years? I am disheartened by Geigers and Heinens though because they were important downtown retail anchors. I'm sure they will endure. As KJP mentioned above, we do need to think about how we get through and beyond this. Unfortunately, as has become abundantly clear, it will require a national discussion, leadership and the will to fix what has been, and continues to be wrong in our society; wrong for centuries. We cannot continue to have black people targeted and murdered indiscrimantly, our businesses vandalized and looted and our beautiful cities maimed and destroyed.
  23. ^ That building has been around a long time and must seem out of place with so much recent development. It was there when I was at the clinic in the 80s.
  24. There are a lot of very nice developments going up all over the city (OC, LI, UC, W. 25, Tremont, etc.).There are also a couple that are mediocre, but you see that everywhere.
  25. ^ Its not about a "Cleveland loser mentality" it's about a dysfunctional airport management structure that's been consistently scandal prone. That has been well documented.
