  1. I don't think it's as hideous as some are making it out to be. That said, it's very plain... It's a hodgepodge of Battery Park Lofts and The Edison - but a cheapened version with no frills. I think even subtle design changes could make this a lot better. For one, all units facing the water should have a balcony or terrace. They also need to ditch the "parking garage" design for the existing balconies. Even just increasing the size of the windows would go a long way.
  2. Also wouldn’t mind a temporary mural or two across the fencing… 🤔
  3. Great scoop(s)! Any idea on timelines for Corus or the Green Opal salon?
  4. Fencing is up and looks like construction is about to commence on the Hingetown Creative Hangars.
  5. I heard through the grapevine that at least 3-4 of the retail spaces at Church and State will soon be filled. Rumor has it Corus 45 is moving in from their current spot + mention of at least one restaurant.
  6. They plan to open the park "to the public within 5 years" but we're already 4 years in from project inception (albeit aspirational at the time). Labeling it a "five-year" project seems a bit insincere when it will have been 9-10 years before it's fully realized.
  7. I’m sure painting it a dark color will deter the graffiti artists and “f Bobby George” messages.
  8. He started with a small loan of 1 million dollars!
  9. I noticed the article says "next November." I assume that was an error by Trattner and the ETA is actually November, 2021?
  10. View of The Dexter from the back on Clinton. This is just some of the artwork they’ve started to hang.
  11. So, this will be part of the renovation of the printing building (+ qounset hut project)?
  12. I know I mentioned this up thread but we were the first official tenants to sign and couldn't be more excited. We don't move until June but the anticipation is killing us. We've done some looking around inside and the building looks beautiful and they have artwork on various placards around the exterior of the building. I will snap some photos the next time I take a walk. The property manager is a great guy and did mention an Austin-based chef is planning to open a restaurant (possibly BBQ) in one of the retail spaces. Not sure if that's mentioned anywhere in the CBJ article (or if that plan has been solidified with the tenant yet).
  13. Does anyone know the status of the removal of the (soon to be former) Front Steps building? I know the plan was for that building to eventually be demolished after all residents were moved to the brand new complex. They opened the new St. Joseph Commons last year and have been steadily moving the residents over. Wondering if it's a full 12+ month process.
  14. Quick progress pic at the light today.
  15. Didn’t see this posted anywhere but Choolaah coming to the old Howard Hanna spot next to Mitchell’s.
  16. Some exciting personal news: I may (or may not be) officially the first signed tenant for The Dexter. We love Hingetown so much that we want to spend at least one more year here before hopefully buying a home. The property manager also provided some interesting nuggets: Construction is on track to complete by end of February. Keys will be handed over to the leasing office by mid-March. They have had many inquiries on their retail spaces but have one that is set to become official: A popular chef from Austin is moving to the area and will be opening a restaurant at the base of The Dexter. I’ve included some photos of the progress from my latest hard hat tour. Don’t mind the dust/loose ends that need to be tied up.
  17. As someone who lives in Hingetown and has to drive to either Gordon Square or the Edgewater neighborhood to find a drug store, we are in dire need of one nearby.
  18. Yeah, who would want amenities for residents! Let's expand Linda's into the Quarter and open up another used car lot!
  19. According to the store manager I spoke to when I was in Lululemon a few weeks back, their lease for the Harness spot is 1 year long. Depending on how they do, they have plans for a permanent store "most likely somewhere along Detroit" in Hingetown.
  20. Idk why you guys expect me to go around the circle when I could go through it. It's fuel and time efficient. Stop judging This driver (or maybe drivers plural?) had to either be blackout drunk or flat out sleeping. They went over the median/6 inch curb, hit a sign, and kept going over a second raised curb to get inside the circle, knocked over a second sign, and turfed plants and mud - all without stopping?
  21. Oh, I have to respectfully disagree. Nearly all of the historical buildings in Ohio City are red brick. It’s everywhere. And while I do love the look, the dark gray is a very sharp, modern color and really sets it apart in Hingetown. Just my opinion.
  22. I know there have been a few "potential" boutique hotels discussed for Ohio City. However, both of those would not technically qualify as "new builds" as they were planned for historic properties. Wondering if this could be part of Intro?
  23. We're pretty close over here. They did about half of the crosswalks, lane paintings, etc. last week. Not sure what the hold up is on finishing the job. That said, most of the sidewalks are finished up but still some work to be completed to make it all cohesive...
  24. Exciting little Easter egg in there regarding retail momentum for Church + State: Retail leasing at Church+State lagged due to the pandemic. But the sources said that one unidentified retail tenant has recently signed on and lease drafts are being worked on for at least more potential restaurant-retail tenants.
