  1. I Think the last diagram is great, Burnham! What do you think about a plaza on the south square extending from the monument Westward to a cafe/visitor center located in front of Tower City. Outdoor seating on this plaza would be nice. And how about a few of the Hanna Fountains (if there still around) on the Northern square?
  2. Love that idea!
  3. I currently live in Berkeley, CA. Have lived in San Francisco, Oakland, Seattle. Have spent time in Portland and many other "great" cities. Cleveland has some problems, but is far better than it's reputation. Many of the above cities don't come close to being as good as their reputations. My wife is a CA native and is impressed with Cleveland, and we will most likely move back to Cleve. My point is; the media picks certain places like Portland to praise and Cleveland to put-down....and people believe the media- even the locals. And believe it or not, a lot of people (frequently the young, job-optional crowd, will move someplace just because they hear repeatedly how cool it is.
  4. I love the idea of the WestShore commuter rail line going to Tower City. Now....continue it Eastward on Huron Rd. to E9th St, head North on E9th (coordinated with the "9/12 District" efforts), then Eastward along the path of the previously proposed extension on the Waterfront Line. From E9th Eastward it could be the "EastShore" Line.

strongly democrat, mildly to moderately liberal.
  6. south on E9th, east on superior, south on E17th, west on prospect to huron, to TC.
  7. By the way, thanks to all of you that have, and will continue to, fight for rail. I will be moving back to Ohio in 6-8 months and appreciate the effort!!
  8. I think you are all way over-analyzing this. Kasich has future political ambitions. He was, and will again be, a Fox News guy. He needs Fox News and Tea Party types to help him ascend the ranks of the Republican Party. Look at what Glen Beck is doing in Southern OH.....talking (lying) about how a small town rejected Federal help. If Kasich takes 400 mil from the Feds, what will Sarah and Glen say?? It's all politics, and it makes me want to puke.
  9. Due to nay-sayers, rail of any kind needs to be reasonably successful very quickly. Therefore, I feel any new rail downtown would need to connect already established residential and business districts. This will help "sell" rail, thus allowing expansion to less developed areas in order to spur development. Americans, and probably Ohioans more-so, need nearly instant success in order to gain support.
  10. And according to the article, Voinovich was for 3C before he "studied" the proposal more thoroughly....uh yeah...
  11. Sorry if I'm straying off topic, but I think if the Children's museum were to move from UC, it should move to Playhouse Square.

I've always thought that it should be the "Art and Design District".
  13. You're upset enough to leave, but indifferent enough to not vote...WTF?
  14. Please... enlighten us. I would like to know more. Cleve17, you spend a lot of time giving what I think are emotional responses that are packaged as fact. Please clarify so I don't have to feel that I am wasting my time reading your posts. And please... when someone requests a source for your statements, please just give a source, or state that you made it up, rather than being a smart *ss. You're taking the enjoyment out of reading these posts.

"Main span ends just East of Ontario street"....don't they mean just West of Ontario?? I'm having trouble picturing this.
