  1. The parcel is 008-04-015 and there's nothing showing any property transfers.
  2. They've already got a bunch of shows scheduled according to their social media.
  3. I feel like those renders are like 80% of the way to actually being a pretty nice looking building. Round off the roofline, add some of those fake balcony windows and it'd look way better.
  4. Looks like the end is near for the Lido Lounge https://www.reddit.com/r/Cleveland/comments/153v563/uh_yall_have_some_sad_news_lido_is_being_torn_down/
  5. Definitely a bummer to not have any plans for it other than a small parking lot, but tearing it down definitely seems appropriate given in how bad of shape its in. I'm not an engineer, but the amount of rusting rebar you can see sticking out of the concrete is concerning.
  6. Not an architect, but that makes a lot more sense than hollowing the building out. I'm imagining the hollowed center of the building being like Ponte City in Johnannesburg. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ponte_City

I can't wrap my head around how a team can be this bad. They're worse offensively than the A's are on pace to be one of the worst MLB teams of all time.
  8. The 2016 Red Line Extension study had going from Windermere to Noble Road at $916 million. I think the other projections are too low. https://www.riderta.com/majorprojects/redlinehealthlineextension
  9. I would expect to do that you'd run into all sorts of trouble with having to comply with FRA mainline train rules i.e. PTC and crashworthiness requirements.
  10. That didn't take long.
  11. Not sure if anyone has any insight, but it looks like the former Einstein Bagels next to the hospital is going to be torn down soon. The site is fenced up and there's some heavy machinery. According to the county property database, it's two lots and they were sold to JP Morgan Chase on 2/15/23 for $1.8 million each.

The live turnout tracker is up - currently there's 19708 votes cast. For reference, in 2017 32,780 votes were cast.

Slightly off topic, but is there any polling out there other than this poll from a month ago? Seems crazy that we're a week away and the race still feels wide open.
  14. Interesting video. Hindsight is 20/20, but dang, this seems like a dumb design. I'm not a structural engineer, but it seems like if they just built the bridge straight instead of curving the ends this wouldn't be a problem.
  15. The feds actually tried to do this in the 70s. They had the USLRV which was a disaster and the SOAC which never went into production. The CTS tested both and turned both down.

St. Louis to sign a 1 day contract to retire as a cardinal. Can't really see many teams jumping to sign him given how bad he's been.
  17. RTA originally bought 60 of those red line cars, 40 interior renovations around a decade ago. I guess these ones getting scrapped are the ones that didn't get the renovations.
  18. My god that's horrific. On the other hand, I like the buildings surrounding it.
  19. http://www.riderta.com/service-alerts/waterfront-line-construction?s=09 The WFL having such low ridership that the RTA isn't even bothering with a replacement bus is simultaneously depressing, comical, and unsurprising.
  20. @StapHanger Pretty much nailed it. Aside from logistical issues with the RTA, putting a walking and biking trail either next to the WFL and a freight line or between them seems comically dangerous. Putting a trail there doesn't even give access to the lake - the trail would be boxed in by industry and 90.
  21. I mean, looking at the map, why not put the trails next to both? Scenic views of . . . the port, the company A stadium, the sad amtrak station, and parking? I don't get it.
  22. @KJP It's from the where the red and blue-green lines split to 105 & Quincy.
  23. There's still a loop at Green Road, I assume they removed at some point.
