  1. Contessa Gallery is in the process of moving from Legacy Village to an interior space at Eton formerly home to Mattlin-Hyde Piano Co. Worth pointing out that Contessa has been at Legacy since the center opened in 2003.
  2. Eton Chagrin Boulevard update: Chopt Creative Salad Co. opening first Cleveland location in former Fidelity space in 2025. https://www.clevescene.com/food-drink/chopt-creative-salad-co-to-open-first-ohio-location-at-eton-chagrin-blvd-45086447 Fiamma by Mendel looking to open in November. Construction has been progressing nicely over the last month. Exterior signage went up last week. https://www.clevelandjewishnews.com/features/nosh/fiamma-by-mendel-eyes-november-opening/article_e3ed0412-96fe-11ef-be0f-d38e9e6f55c8.html A combination Cold Stone Creamery/Planet Smoothie opening in the former Allen Edmonds space in 2025. First Cleveland Planet Smoothie location. If I recall correctly, Cold Stone's first Northeast Ohio was at Eton back in ~2003. https://www.facebook.com/EtonChagrin/photos/cold-stone-creamery-planet-smoothie-are-coming-together-at-eton-chagrin-blvd-in-/937756821717394/?_rdr
  3. The North Face at Eton is closing after 15 years on August 14th, according to a sign in front of the store. The outlet at Aurora Farms is not affected.
  4. Top of the Hill's first retail tenant has a "coming soon" sign posted outside: UH Urgent Care.
  5. Too small. Woodling only holds 3,000 people. The Charge were averaging 3,383 per game last season.
  6. Surprised to hear that Jones Day is looking for new office space.
  7. Mabel's has been closed because many of their staff members have helped get Heritage up and running. Same ownership group I believe. My guess is that Stark is being patient with Mabel's.
  8. Maybe it's a typo and Free People is moving from Eton to join FP Movement.
  9. Nice article on Heritage Steak & Whiskey: https://www.clevescene.com/food-drink/first-look-heritage-steak-and-whiskey-opening-at-eton-on-friday-november-24-43131789
  10. Hearing that Heritage Steak & Whiskey at Eton will open "on or around" Black Friday. No replacement lined up yet for Mitchell's, but not surprising since it is a large space (had multiple party/meeting rooms, two dining rooms, and a bar). My colleagues and I had a meeting in the "Captain's Quarters" party room two weeks before they closed. So by spring 2024, two of the four larger vacant restaurant spaces should be occupied once again (Agave & Rye and Heritage).
  11. Beachwood Place update: Sunglass Hut moved into a nearby, larger storefront formerly occupied by Addicted Accessories, which itself moved to the lone vacant second floor space in the Saks wing Nuevo Modern Mexican is moving into the last vacant food court space (anticipated November/December opening) Nordstrom parking garage exterior work is complete La Place parking garage renovation is complete and fully reopened for the first time in two years Overall, it should be another busy holiday season for the mall.
  12. My brother talked to one of the bridge workers, and they are shooting for "end of September."
  13. Paladar just permanently closed today at Eton. I could also see Agave & Rye landing in their space: https://www.clevescene.com/food-drink/paladar-latin-kitchen-in-woodmere-has-closed-after-16-years-42734072 Also, construction continues at a snail's pace on Heritage, but it appears almost done.
  14. Nice to have another Aerie on the east side (only other one is at Aurora Farms). This and OFFLINE will both do well at Pinecrest.
  15. Site prep has begun in the Pinecrest parking lot near REI and West Elm. According to the Orange Village Planning & Zoning minutes, this will be a freestanding Fidelity Investments location. It will relocate from Eton to Pinecrest. Fidelity also has a small office space on the second floor of Eton Tower, which I assume will also be moving. Crocker Park has a very visible freestanding Fidelity location, so this move makes sense (although it's interesting that both Fidelity and Charles Schwab will now be next to one another). Interested to see what new tenant will take its place at Eton. It's in a prime location and Fidelity has been there forever. ErieBank is also now open at Eton West End.
  16. Interior demolition began last week in the former Fleming's space at Eton Chagrin Boulevard. Still no word on the name of the new steakhouse.
  17. A couple Saks locations, such as Richmond, VA and Tulsa, OK, have recently closed their second floors and consolidated onto one floor. Until we start to see things like that, I wouldn't worry about Beachwood. As JJames mentioned above, Beachwood was recently touted as a high-performing location by Saks corporate. As far as Starbucks inside Beachwood Place, I would imagine this is a staffing issue causing a delayed reopening. Many of the area Starbucks have only recently resumed normal hours as they ramp up hiring.
  18. According to the article in Crain's, only 1,500 sq ft of retail space now remains available at Euclid Grand. Huge win for the building in landing Five Iron.
  19. Paper Source is closing soon at Eton. Judging by how fast the former Lucky Brand store was taken over by Evereve, I expect this space to find a new tenant quickly.
  20. Showcase, a Canadian specialty retailer focusing on trending products, is expanding to the U.S. with 27 new locations this summer, including Beachwood Place (Ohio's only location): https://chainstoreage.com/canadian-retailer-showcase-open-27-us-stores-end-summer
  21. Free People Movement opened last Friday at Pinecrest in the former Gracylane space. This is the first FP Movement location in Ohio.
  22. Looking at Harvard Park in Chagrin Highlands, HomeGoods is taking 3/4 of the space (28,095 sq ft) formerly occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond. According to leasing documents, the remaining 10,000 sq ft is being negotiated: https://goodmanrealestate.com/components/com_osproperty/document/1649430104_Warrensville Heights, OH - Harvard Park.pdf Also, MatchSet Tennis is opening soon in the last vacant space in the main part of the plaza. This store focuses on tennis, racquetball, and pickleball and has one other location in Dayton: https://www.cleveland.com/business/2022/04/racket-sports-courted-new-players-mid-pandemic-new-tennis-store-platform-tennis-center-open-in-greater-cleveland-while-sport-soars.html https://www.matchsettennis.com/
  23. Both Chagrin/Green and Eton are back open with regular hours. But this wasn’t until recently.
  24. “Safety issues” could’ve also been COVID-related. The shop has been temporarily closed since late 2020/early 2021. Plus all of the fixtures/signage/furniture is still there. In the meantime, at least Nordstrom’s eBar is open in the mall and Nervous Dog in LaPlace. The eBar baristas are always super friendly.
  25. Saks off 5th, not J. Crew
