Totally agree. There isn’t an American city today that could find the money to build anything as comprehensive as that proposal. I read something that if NYC had to build its subway system today it’d cost about $370 trillion… lol

Great scoop @KJP . I like the idea of them moving the stadium there. Anyone coming into town for a weekend to see a game will be a short train ride into the city so, as far as I’m concerned, this is TOD. I cant wait to see what comes of the current stadium site; so much potential for all that land overlooking the water… and maybe the city can annex the land from Brook Park, magically, and then everyone can say the Browns are still in Cleveland and we’re all winners

I had the same initial thought. There are so many other things with setbacks. I’d rather see Detroit feel more crowded… you know, like a city. I live nearby. There’s enough open space and empty lots

The Verizon building did for views from the Brooklyn Bridge in NYC what Rhodes Tower does for that bit of Cleveland town. About 10 years ago they turned a lot of it into glass. Still not the most remarkable bit of architecture but a huge visual improvement. Anyway, it'd be neat-o for them to do something like this. Apologies to the 50 other people on this forum who have made this observation and posted about this exact thing already

Two rapid stations and now a boulevard (I mean, corridor) connecting 79th to the east and west side... can't wait to see what the next generation can do to make use of all that infrastructure

Agreed. I live over here. The train station is only a 10 minute walk down Madison for me and there are a LOT of empty lots. Infill ‘er on down. I doubt any of my neighbors will show up to the town hall meeting complaining about whatever it is people complain about

Two timber-framed buildings in so many years... I must be dreaming. The Cleveland Foundation was a surprise to me (you nerds all prolly knew all about it years ago). They did beautiful work. Who is the builder?

I hope this project motivates the owner of the original City Club building to renovate. I did some work in there a few years ago and its ridiculous how far they’ve let that place go. Also, whatever restaurant was in there in 2019 I sincerely hope closed. We did work in the morning and the last night’s kitchen was a wreck. Food everywhere, dishes everywhere… but it did fit in nicely with the general atmosphere of the building so maybe its all on point.

I noticed some sewers roughed-in by 7915 Madison. Any clever people know what this is all about?

The upshot is that we have an emergent pattern of significant skyscrapers being built; 20s (terminal tower), 80s(BP building), 90s (Key), 00s (that courthouse), and 20s (SW). The downside is that after this SW building shows up it means we have to wait until 2080 to get another one

In seriousness, I hope public opinion and the building review thing give enough pushback to make them do something less ridiculous. I’m all in favor of being pro-business but I’m also in favor of business be pro-public.

They have some brass balls; Knez. I’ve lived here since 2018 and this neighborhood is bananas, not for the faint of heart. They’re selling for between $250-$300K here and they’re actually accomplishing it... I’m so happy to see my li’l hood turn a corner
