  1. Ikr!! A 75,000 seat dome should have at least a dozen spaces
  2. So looking at those numbers, the rate of growth from 2023 to 2024 was an approx 60% increase. Does anyone know if growth is happening at the county level also?
  3. Yes, growth occurred during those years, but the population loss of the early 2010's would have still caused a census count to be negative in 2020 for the previous ten years
  4. Its a function of frequency. Those trains run every 15 min or so. So the more frequency, the less riders per train. I ride it a couple times a week and its decently full
  5. Now that we have a for certain construction project at CLE, should we not created a separate thread for this under Northeast Ohio Projects and Construction?
  6. I knew it! When i read the article it seemed familiar. There's alot of "reporting" in the Cleveland media that you have already covered
  7. Actually, Its been reported by JobsOhio that Cleveland will move to Columbus. An parcel in the Polaris development next to the Ikea has opened up.
  8. I read alot of articles/opinion pieces in the Pittsburgh media and beleive me they are no better off. In fact they may be worse off. St. Louis is very much worse off. No, ill take CLE any day
  9. Unless I'm reading it wrong, wouldn't this just be a case where Cliffs operates USS as a separate subsidiary with a local HQ in Pit?
  10. Yep, it was said at the time that MCD bought Boeing with Boeing's money.
  11. Exactly! If I were the City and County, i would be compiling a comprehensive list of concessions to let the Browns chew over And while they're at it, lobby the State for as much as they can get. We have a generational opportunity to remake our lakefront and a developer (Haslam) thats putting up over $1B to develop an eyesore near the airport. Lets not waste it.
  12. I dont think it will get ugly at all....We are now at the stage where everyone will posture and complain but behind the scenes will work out a compromise. The City and County can dangle Modell's law and the Browns can threaten to leave the area. At the end of the day, they'll each get something - maybe not completely all, but something. Im not opposed to County or State money here. It may not be downtown but aside from that it gets a blighted area rehabed.
  13. The 1970's style Regency with the revolving restaurant
  14. Now, assuming that HQ1 and its environs are not yet fully realised, could this hotel be the one that's ben discussed in the SW thread that would serve as a place to stay for SW employees in Cleveland on business or training? i'de think that the general public would also have access?
  15. So would eiither or both of these hotels be a part of SW HQ2?
  16. Yes...i know people in NJ who can see NYC from their living room. They never go to NYC and have nothing good to say of it. This is not a Cleveland specific issue
  17. Just look for the World Class Signage
  18. But I've already booked a room! I am curious though. How many floors is this hotel to be? I think that much could be revealed
  19. If they are never built, you will never know.......
  20. I remember in connection with the 2000 and I believe 2010 census, Key Bank (like BofA above) insisted that CLE population was undercounted. They felt that the population remained steady through the 1990's to clock-in at approx. 505,000. The discussion is probably in this thread. I think Key went as far as to ask the Census Bureau for a recount or revision based upon their metrics. Turned down.
  21. An Expat is a citisen of one country who lives in another but has no intention of becoming a citisen of the host country. I myself will be in this category (hopefully), dividing my time between Shaker Square and as yet undisclosed city in France
  22. The only winners in this litigation will be the lawyers
  23. Ive written as much in other threads and I cant write it enough. Being the "old" man on this blog, i remember when all of the above would have been considered a pipe dream - dismissed as nothing but fantasy. I remember W25th in the 70's. Prospect Ave and more. I know im in the minority here but im ok with the stadium going to BP and even the use of count/state money to help get it done. It will re develop a much needed area and free the city from having to offer any money that could be used for lakefront development. Downtown will thrive nevertheless. And as far a stagnancy is concerned, we'v already seen data from Census Bureau that population may be beginning to rebound. Ok, rant over!
  24. I dont think thats much of a bargaining chip. BP is the destination. Its been decided..all the actors have to do is play their parts.
  25. Excellent post. And dont forget, attendance is in proportion to stadium size..especially Progressive which is low capacity. No, the teams arent going anywhere. Not bad attendance for a "stagnant" metro
