Then the Browns can build in Medina County.

Cleveland: Random Visualizations & Massings
I agree. The landbridge is the most important addition right now. It's the lynchpin/foundation for all that folliws and what will make access to the lake possible

Wasnt there talk of a new cruise ship terminal building at one point?

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
I think a couple of new hotels are a realistic possibility along with an airport parking garage. They are needed, especially with the airport Sheraton demo'd. Residential is anyones guess, if at all. Am i correct in understanding that anything built, save for the stadium itself, would be private money? I think the County should flex a little muscle here. Now that the City is out of the picture, the County is in the drivers seat when it comes to protecting the public interest. Plus, through public financing, it will have a seat at the table. This would be a nice test for regionalism.

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
This whole thing is beginning to read like a bad script. Surely all of the actors here knew that BP was the ultimate choice and come hell or high water thats where the Browns were headed. The City makes a counter-offer to renovate a 30 year old stadium absolutely knowing it had no chance. Also, they offer Burke knowing that the time-line for that was way in the future and hence not accetable. As as result, the City can claim they tried to retain the team and play the jilted party. Meanwhile, the County and State can sit and wait, showing nominal support out of duty to the City, biding their time till called upon to finance the portion that the Browns dont.

If anything, the only thing made redundant is the IX Center

As an outsider looking in (soon to be insider), I dont see CLE as stagnant. Over the years ive seen CLE thrive despite population loss or businesses relocate to the burbs. Too often we see things in CLE as being mutually exclusive. That to build one thing means the failure of another. In this case it allows for the development of the Lakefront into something more. If the present stadium goes and Burke is decomissioned, think of the possibilites this means for the lakefront. The Guardians and Cavs are basically year-round attractions since they overlap. Downtown population continues to grow as well as the surrounding environs. More downtown and near downtown population growth is 100% every day of the year - not just half a dozen Sundays from September thru December. At the end of the day, if a new stadium is built in BP, it will at least re-develop an eyesore near the airport. I definitely can see hotel development. The airport area needs nearby hotels. In all my travels, cities much smaller than CLE have much better hotel access near airport. Residential may be a different story, but if you figure a way to incorporate residential into the fabric of the team/stadium, there might be something to that. Such as tying season tickets into condo purchases....sorry for the incoherent rambling but im typing on subway lol

Cleveland: Shaker Square: Development and News
All of the above....im officially retired now and this is why im in process of relocation back to the Square. Plus the square footage of the condos is astounding. But losing Edwins would be a loss. Edwins was an attraction and we visit often

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
If County/State Bonds are used, why not make the risk fall totally on the Browns. Make the State/County monies a low interest loan. Make the Browns liable for full repayment the same way United was on the hook for Terminal D.

I wonder if this can be tied in to landside airport improvements? Construct new terminal/security, rental car facilites on the BP side. Connect the BP side with airside concourses via train to run in a loop crossing all landside/airside facilities. Construct pkg garages BP side. Would free up airside property for future airpiort expansion.

Make no mistake, there WILL be County and State funds used here. They will protest for show but will pony up in the end

Nah, the Browns are moving to Baltimore

I dont know where it is, but ive already made my reservation

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Why does it have to jell? The skyline of CLE is unique. Granted, none of towers over 500' match, but the shorter ones do.

I wonder.....does this mean Huntington Bank Capital Markets will be the Lead Manager for the new stadium?

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
No, i dont think we have ever gotten this far. Always alot of plans but never realistic funding. I just turned 65 and will soon "retire" back to CLE (Shaker Square area) and i have to say that im amazed by some current and future development plans. Lakefront, Riverfront, Scranton are the big 3. I never thought i would live to see any one of those three to fruition but here we are!

Thank you. I only wish that they could tie this into the airport improvements that are contemplated

You are talking about expansion of smaller airports. Good luck with that. As i said above, with proposed expansion comes decades of litigation, environmental studies, etc. BKL also has a 24/7 staffed federal tower and is an airport of entry. Plus CATIII on 24R- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
The fact that it exists is enough to keep it as long as BKL remains open. As you know, runway construction involves years of litigation, environmental impact studies, etc. Removing existing capacity has to be carefully considered because replacing it would be prohibitive if not impossible. Just because at this snapshot in time it would seem that the runway and airport arent needed doesnt mean that in a few years it wont. And as said by those more learned than me: You cant compare this to Meigs.- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
No..CAK is busy enough to have its own releiver airport- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
It has two: 26L/4R and 26R/4L- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Its still BKL. The airshow can always be suspended. Btw, years ago I used to fly to Allentown PA. They had an annual airshow at ABE with simultaneous airline ops. They simply adjusted the show to accomodate airline scheds.- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Should note here that most likely you will have a departure heading assigned prior to take-off that will take you over the lake somewhat when departing 6R. I dont beleive 6L is used for departures- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Ive used the Port, Whiskey Island, Downtown, the North Olmstead Water Tower...all for visuals to CLE. For BKL, i cant remember the last time i landed on the 6's but you should already have the rnwy in sight and on a stable aporoach by the time you fly over the port. Overflight of stadium is a no-no - Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
