Not to derail this thread, but here's her announcement- looks like we were all slightly late to the party (May 11th tweet, May 10th announcement) Happy for us to have her talents once more put to good use, can't wait to see the flurry of NEOtrans posts we will be sure to have in our future ?

Cleveland: Nautica Development
Are there many similar spaces nearby other than Krenzler field and St Ignatius's fields? I think we all want Civic spaces that are not closed off to the public, one reason Church & State's public spaces are praised in contrast to CCF's fortress developments. I think execution will be key, but given that the flats is an entertainment destination, the parts that are redeveloped seem to cater to public uses. If Stonebridge's parking could be shifted to the garage and some space could be opened up for a linear park on the Viaduct, I don't know that an open space on the rooftop would be at odds with the linear park. Other green space in the semi-immediate area like Settler's Landing and Wendy Park seem more appropriate for informal pickup games like ultimate Frisbee, kicking a soccer ball around, or throwing a football back and forth more than something requiring a clear, level playing area of large enough size. I can see both sides to this, but at the very least having a connection from the dead-end on the viaduct seems exciting to me.

Yes. The sheet piling is intended to hold back the soil for the excavation for the underground parking. edit: Mendo beat me to it. You can also see it used in the water e.g. at the north coast harbor pedestrian bridge project: Picture from @NR

I've also seen a location is coming to Summit County in the Montrose area based on a site plan posted to the Architectural review board there. I pegged it as being the Michigan chain expanding their presence to Northeast Ohio. Looks like they're planting a few flags to start.

Lordstown plant could get spark from partnership GM, Honda to join together to develop 2 electric vehicles LORDSTOWN — Two all-new electric vehicles General Motors and Honda pledged jointly to develop for the Japanese automaker could increase demand for battery cells from GM’s proposed next-gen technology plant. The propulsion system in the vehicles is based on GM’s new proprietary battery platform, the cells for which will be manufactured at the planned $2.3 billion plant in Lordstown. https://www.tribtoday.com/news/local-news/2020/04/lordstown-plant-could-get-spark-from-partnership/

It's always nice to see efforts to encourage regionalism and doing so within NOACA's territory makes sense given they control their own destiny, but I cannot help but feel that it falls short if it doesn't aspirationally extend to cooperating with other MPOs, namely AMATS, in long-range visions.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
That really sounds like a Cincinnati date night Staying on topic, I was curious of how social distancing would affect construction workers. I'd imagine that to be more extreme for projects during say, interior finishing vs site preparation.

Foster understanding. Choose kind shortenings helping imbue tacitness. Because it tells clear hints. --- Cleveland doesn't seem to often be a subject of discourse on Sky Scraper Page, and although we are still awaiting renderings or more official embodiments of the plans, I am (somewhat) surprised it took so long to get posted there. --- And staying even more on topic, we have seen news articles about incentives from Cleveland, Brecksville, and Cuyahoga County, but has there been any update on the State's contributions and those of JobsOhio as well if those are separate?

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Between the buffers of I-90, 7 sets of train tracks, 2 cemeteries, the general industry zoning, and the noise that accompanies the freight and heavy passenger rail and vehicular highway traffic, you'd think that among the existing neighborhood, even a vehement NIMBY with some sense would find some vertical residential would be a welcome sound buffer and an improvement over the unsightliness of scrap metal and recycling businesses and the public dumping and abandonment that occurs along train ave.

Painesville / Lake County: Development and News
They sell naturally flavored fruity popsicles and ice cream. Michoacán is one of the 32 states of Mexico. Michoacana is the demonym for people/things originating from that place. There's an interesting story behind how the ice cream grew to so many different operators. It seems that it was very loosely branded and actually does not have a unified master franchisor. Countless businesses have used the name, with seemingly two major distinct businesses that many have ties to, while yet others are completely unrelated. https://www.eater.com/2019/10/22/20908347/la-michoacana-paleta-legal-battle From what I understand, one entity franchises ice cream shops (US, Mexico, Panama), while another distributes (US, Canada) ice cream and popsicle products to restaurants, convenience and grocery stores, etc. Franchise model: https://lamichoacanaweb.com/ Distributor model: https://michoacana.com/ Distributor model: https://lamichoacanapremium.com/

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
This also reminds me of the MBTA's Silver line, which they brand as BRT. It starts out underground with catenary wires and then transitions to diesel not long after it goes above-grade. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_Line_(MBTA)

I had no idea there were so many aspects of public spaces for the project. This is very exciting beyond the wonderful street presence and expansion of the neighborhood's revitalization and taller density westward. Thank you for such an informative article, @KJP.

A lot of these projects can run together over time, but I thought I recalled the discussion of Market Square being eventually connected in addition to the duck island TOD. A quick search yielded this article https://www.cleveland.com/business/2018/08/chicago-area_developer_has_gra.html Perhaps that was the only indication that was possible in a later phase, I might go digging further. Edit: That's the closest I'm seeing.

Love the view of the Veterans Memorial Bridge "floating" from this vantage point. The density of downtown reminds me of the feeling going over the Main Avenue Viaduct into downtown from the west along the Shoreway or the below view along the Buffalo Skyway https://www.google.com/maps/@42.8748311,-78.8781987,3a,75y,357.43h,84.81t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sLPWFffVkQDIeqNPKBxZCkg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
