  1. I'm not sure why widespread prisoner transport is such a big component when elsewhere you have solutions like this one: Modern justice: Summit County invests in efficient ways to connect inmates with courts March 18, 2022 | Akron Beacon Journal - by Stephanie Warsmith https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/news/2022/03/18/summit-county-upgrades-technology-courts-and-jail/9376998002/

  3. And on that note, here's the status of the "Mayor's 100 Day Tracker" on the website: 45 Completed 28 In Progress 12 Not Started 85 Priorities Total
  4. Red light photo from E105th. Unfortunately had my thumb over most of the pic, so I had to crop it heavily.
  5. In their defense, has anyone tried a telegraph yet? We might need to use mediums they're familiar and comfortable with.
  6. Cleveland Cavaliers partner with Cleveland-Cliffs for new jersey patch starting in 2022-23 season https://www.cleveland.com/cavs/2022/03/cleveland-cavaliers-partner-with-cleveland-cliffs-for-new-jersey-patch-starting-in-2022-23-season.html Replaces Goodyear who had a 5 year sponsorship agreement for the uniform patches. Also announced:
  7. Treo has impressive street presence! It felt absolutely looming as I approached (3/25/22). This is the view from Porco's upper parking lot, noticeably higher than W25th at grade.
  8. I'll be at Porco tonight so I will see if I can get a shot from the ground level perspective next door from TREO.
  9. I was at Tabletop last night and saw that Pins was open and it felt so inviting from the street. When I left close to 11 PM, there was still plenty of activity
  10. Pretty sure you're looking for "The Viaduct"
  11. Even two months ago the grocery storefront was clearly the same as Amazon Fresh - I have no doubt in my mind it is Amazon Fresh, doubly so with the fact they are waiting for signage as the very last element and have shrouded the project in secrecy from the beginning as is typical for everything Amazon.
  12. In the recent push to become self-sufficient with energy generation in light of current events, I thought maybe we'd hear more about this project, even if it doesn't get any movement itself while embroiled in legal battles. Does anyone believe the current geopolitical atmosphere would salvage this project?

There is this resolution: 2021-295 A Resolution authorizing a professional service contract, subject to an award by the Board of Control, with Environmental Design Group, LLC, to perform consulting services in the planning of the expansion of broadband services into opportunity zones and job hub areas, ratifying acceptance of an EDA Cares Act grant and authorizing the required cash match for the Executive, and declaring an emergency. In addition, according to this plan for ARPA funding, they intend to earmark $25 million for community broadband grants - the formula for which I have not seen announced yet, but it says "Formulary distribution approach based on census tract population and low to moderate income census tracts."
  14. From the same Twitter thread a couple days later:
  15. According to the Mayor's website, the 100 day tracker mentions under the Equity in Action section "Appoint a civilian advocate for equity to the RTA Board."
  16. With an average floor height of 1 foot and 2/3rd of one inch, this 900 story behemoth will eclipse the measly 57 floor, 947' Key Tower. Heck, the roof height is 888 feet so we'll be cooking with fire even with 1 foot tall floor heights! Even the 167+ story Jeddah Tower won't stand a chance! I'll take a condo priced to sell way down on the 75th floor, please.
  17. They ostensibly want a park. But we know that means, "no development", which of course does nothing to increase the tax base, neighborhood vitality, or other progress. The park in the last render reminds me a bit of Tony Brush park. A nice urban meeting place. The open space in the middle render is reminiscent of the one by MoCA. Bring it on!
  18. You would know, you mentioned it 😂
  19. Wasn't there a E 4th pedestrian laneway that was adjacent to the screened parking garage? Curious how that might be better executed if a part of this development (a pedestrian extension to E4 to flow into and better connect the core of Downtown with the RoMoFiHo)
  20. Canalway partners would seem like a usual suspect, but that's just an educated guess
  21. Already looking different with the asphalt gone and the fence down. Will be good to see density creeping down 105th as you go down the Opportunity Corridor
  22. The Walton Hills Ford Plant redevelopment by the JV of Weston Inc., the DiGeronimo Cos. and Scannell Properties was named as one project and group seeking grant money from the state's Brownfield Remediation Program. https://www.crainscleveland.com/real-estate/developers-buy-former-ford-plant-walton-hills-plan-transformation
  23. Developers buy former Ford plant in Walton Hills, plan transformation by Michelle Jarboe https://www.crainscleveland.com/real-estate/developers-buy-former-ford-plant-walton-hills-plan-transformation Used my Cuyahoga County Public Library Membership! Here's a summary: The 2.1 million sq ft facility in Walton Hills will be turned into a business park by a JV of Weston Inc, the DiGeronimo Cos., and Scannell Properties - mostly light manufacturing and industrial uses like warehousing and R&D. The same group bought the Brook Park facility. They plan to raze 3/4 of the Walton Hills facility or more, possibly keeping the southern portion if they can find an interested party to use it, otherwise nixing that too. It says the deal took longer than expected due to discovery work on any remediation needs. They'll be making use of the VAP (Voluntary Action Program) from the Ohio EPA that @E Rocc seems to be quite familiar with. They'll try to get some grant funding from the state of Ohio's brownfield remediation program. This requires the backing of a municipality or other local entity for profit-driven applicants - Walton Hills has voiced their support. The JV expects that the project's site could have room for 2-2.5 million sq ft of structures, but it could take up to a decade to get there.
