  1. What's this talk about going vertical when the average downtown resident is in fact underground? 17,936 are 6-feet under at E9th and Erie Ct alone!
  2. If Flaherty & Collins could decide to go back for seconds after their experience with Top of the Hill, I'm more inclined to agree with Ken. Didn't we go through something similar with Casto & The Dexter "looming" over Franklin Circle?
  3. It took them long enough to excavate under the new E55 bridge! I think the bass shook my whole house
  4. In addition to the January Update (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UivuWs5E5nE)... ...Taco Slayer also has updated footage for February and March:
  5. When our stance is "who needs height if you have street-level activation" at Cleveland's front door and you get "the municipal code is forcing some token public space", that's disappointing
  6. There's some hidden timestamps in the content of the page that seem to indicate it was last updated 10/23/2019
  7. As someone who has lived in Gainesville, you're totally on point with the regard that Ohioans hold to the magical allure of crossing the state line, regardless of whether it's just beyond the Okefenokee swamp or it's somewhere that actually fits their vision ("Orlando" aka Lake Buena Vista, or Clearwater, Fort Myers, Destin, Naples...)
  8. Drove past the former Lakewood Hospital site today and figured I'd take a shot of the site as-is and share.
  9. You can tell as evidenced by all the Trucks in the render...
  10. I posted this before, but... These new riverfront buildings really have an impressive presence along the boardwalk despite their height. It looks a lot more dense and imposing in pictures than in the renders. Still, seems hard to get a proper continuous waterfront boardwalk without cooperation (or incentives) for business/landowners. But you'd think people would want foot traffic 🙄
  11. Posted more info here: Ken's last article indicated similar investments by Walton were 21c Museum Hotels.

  13. If that's meant to be taken literally: this is as-seen from the picture at Market and Rhodes The obvious spot here, the parking lots at right, is along Bowery Street, the 4.60 acre parcel 6763911 owned by Akron Children's. Meanwhile, across the street from the Everett building is the Akron Board of Education Sylvester Small Administration Building and the massive APS owned parking lot - 3.67 acres of which is in parcel 6762020. (Bottom left of picture, with other parking lots in far right) Edit: updated the post right after you reacted to it, @jeremyck01
  14. That one feels really obscure until you realize it's a play on Loch Ness/Lake Erie's own "Bessie"
  15. As someone not originally from Ohio, I use Northeast Ohio as a cultural identifier that largely coincides with the Connecticut Western Reserve.
  16. They can call it the "Timber Top II", known for its elegance and high standards for maintenance
  17. Taco Slayer's at it again: We apparently missed this part 2 video from 10/31 showing the RTA bridge (cc: @KJP)
  18. Looks like the latest figures on Cleveland Public Power's LED project...went DOWN? As of 12/7/2020: 52,051/60,779 = 85.63% Last update posted upthread was 11/10/2020 at 86.82% Complete - 52,774 of 60,779. https://www.cpp.org/Initiatives/LED-Streetlight-Installation
  19. Not trashing this idea, but man would it suck to forget something in your car when it has to fetch itself 😅 Parking destroys and undermines urbanism, so anything that can shift parking uses away from city centers and create walkable, pedestrian-centric neighborhoods is a net positive for society.
  20. Hudson backs 50 percent income tax credit for Diebold Nixdorf's expected relocation Company plans to move to city in 2021; will bring 314 jobs, 31.4 million in payroll https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/news/2020/11/19/hudson-backs-income-tax-credit-diebold-nixdorf-relocation/3769500001/
  21. It was for Electric Gardens and showed a rooftop rendering with the skyline in the distance.
  22. Looks like the "Taps & Tails" project mentioned several pages upthread has a recent update: https://www.facebook.com/TapsandTails/photos/a.321001439286174/412305210155796/
  23. This was the key takeaway for me: It also said: It closed with the fact there is no arrangement for the County to share costs with Cleveland, but that the city will likely contribute funding eventually.
  24. Brandywine Valley Railroad is in Pennsylvania. But Ken's past comments re: Cliffs and Cleveland Works Railway were certainly exciting to read. If the CVSR terminated at the B&O Station on Canal Rd, It'd be a short walk from Settler's Landing Station. That would be a lot more compelling with a downtown loop given that it's the waterfront line.
