We know that there is allot of controversy behind the construction of Dubai's buildings, and its ok to be a little jealous, because who isn't right now anyway. What can we do but sit back and watch the show. Know one knows right now when this will end, so lets just sit back and watch. The workers did protest once didn't they?

I am not jealous of Dubai. i am happy and one day when tourism is booming there, Americans will travel there too. I believe once asians begin to flock to this city, Americans will feel more comfortable with traveling there. Dubai is investing alot of money and it is already a major world destination. Dubia is not a fad, but force to behold. I wish we had some of this development, but hey, we had our time, we have developed our cities,let some one else have a turn. The east has develpopmed and had its time to create modern marvels. we dont have much of a need to create office buldings of this magnitude anymore. we have to be at the front of innovation and think of new things to do, we have to be the modern example of how cities work, not just build buildings, as much as I love them.

great way to think outside of the box. Awsome us of space. we need more projects like this so that we can have more green space in our cities.

I think we need both new office towers and more importantly new housing downtwon to create a vibrant urban neighborhood. Poeple will feel safer if they came downtown and there were people down there. Now all i have to do is get a job that will allow me to afford on of these houses. They are pretty expensive.

Cleveland is not going to look the same in a few years. Just sit back and look at whats happening. The flats, the avenue district, CSU, Case, Cleveland Clininc, and on and on. I just saw a presntation from the CSU architect and they have many more plans coming up. To bad I graduate this year.

I love philip Johnsons work, but this tower just would have been out of place on this site.

Im just grateful to see all this development in downtown. I want to see more naturaly, but I am exited to see what we have coming up. the fantasy night club looks hot.

This is great and exiting news for the Flats. Imagine what the Flats could look like in five years if everything gets built.

I also enjoyed Ingenuity last year. theopening ceremony was nice. I would like to have seen a larger crowd.

Looks good that more people in this region are interested in working together. this is a step in the right direction in my opinion.

this is some crazy stuff. Well shit happens. i dont think this will be a regular thing, but it is bad news for RTA. Not good publicity for the trolleys.

Oh Please let both of these projects get built. I agree with most of the comments. Why not have more housing in the flats as opposed to parking. I am sure he can find parking north of this site cant he?

why cant we get a mixed use tower here. Maybe half hotel and half in office space and maybe some residential like some towers in Chicago. we could get a new tallest out of this couldnt we. It would not kill us to have some new hotel space in this city. what do you guys think?

As much as I love the modern day monster buildings, its buildings like this that give cities character. Love this thread and I hope people keep the images coming. Some great treasures are on this thread. It looks like I have some traveling to do.
