Kevmr25..has 4 whole post since he signed up...all in this thread...all negative...and you say we are trying to cause trouble? 1. General Discussions / Architecture / Re: 61 story tower going up in Louisville on: February 18, 2006, 08:58:05 pm oh yeah, i forgot, i still hate it and thinks its ugly and i can do much better! Reply Quote Notify 2 General Discussions / Architecture / Re: 61 story tower going up in Louisville on: February 18, 2006, 08:56:20 pm this building adds nothing to the character of the Louisville Skyline. This tower does not fit into the skyline at all, even if one does like it, i cant change the opinions of those who love it, but i just does not look like it fits into the characteristic of this city. What, if any historic values does it borrow from. Should we just put such a futuristic building in a city, that in my view is a nice southern city, with a historic architectural character. this tower would fit more to me in Europe or in New York or Chicago or maybe even Denver or Houston, but it does nothing to add to this skyline, it instead takes from it, robbing it of a characteristic that I have come accustomed to. I can understand how some one can be glad that a sixty story office tower could be built, i would to, if it was Cleveland, but I would beg, ask and plead for a redesign if they proposed this in Cleveland. Must i remind people of the World Trade center competition. Most of those towers had this type of futuristic look, and all of them were turned down with much criticism. The general public did not like them, and the feeling is that the same fate awaits this tower. There are many towers going up today that add to their skyline. Look at the Comcast center in Philadelphia, The Shanghai World finance Center, The empire world towers in Miami, these towers among many have been design with rave reviews by most and have been well recepted by the public. It has been obvious in this forum to me that this tower will become nothing more than a drawing on a wall some where. Any architecture firm can do better than this and this great city deserves a much better addition to their great skyline in my opinion. Thats it im flying from now on, so i wont even have to pass through it at all. There goes thunder over loiusville for me. now they have to have a beautiful fireworks show ruined with this ugly skyscraper in the background. Reply Quote Notify 4 General Discussions / Architecture / Re: 61 story tower going up in Louisville on: February 13, 2006, 07:53:21 pm this tower is simply a crime against humanity and architecture. I can do much better and if the architects of this tower read this I challenge them to let me do better. This towers model belongs no where but in the trash. No one in there right mind would let any one build this piece of crap in thier city, and if they proposed it for Cleveland ohio i would be the first in line to shot it down. Proposlas like this never get built, skyscrapers this ugly have been proposed before and they have never been built, congradualations for putting Loiusville on the map, now redesign this thing or dont buld it, its ugly as hell, period. I would not want it in my city, and I dont want it in yours, i have to pass this city when i travel down south, I dont want to see that piece of crap when I pass through the city. ITS UGLY, ITS UGLY ITS UGLY, PERIOD.

Louisville, KY: Museum Plaza
exactly, it was a peice of crap..thats why i said you can't go anywhere but up from there.
-
Louisville, KY: Museum Plaza
yes you did, but this statement "You can't go anywhere but up from King Fish" insults the whole chain, not that SITE. no, i specifically said there used to be a king fish on that SITE. for that site yes it is true because for one, that king fish was closed, and two no one ate there.
-
Louisville, KY: Museum Plaza
i can't beleive you are actually trying to argue that a little king fish is better than the museum plaza....are yo ureally that desperate to redicule this building...i mean give it a rest lol jeez.
-
Louisville, KY: Museum Plaza
no, i specifically said there used to be a king fish on that SITE.

Louisville, KY: Museum Plaza
wrong...lol..because ugly people can't stand pretty people
-
Louisville, KY: Museum Plaza

Louisville, KY: Museum Plaza
the sarcasm is getting rediculously pointless. You never even saw the king fish so what do you know?
-
Louisville, KY: Museum Plaza
Everyone can hate on this project all they want, but Louisville cannot go wrong with this project. Considering he fact that the Ali Center is right next door, and Main St. just a few steps away, this will be awesome....especially when considering there used to be a king fish on this site. You can't go anywhere but up from King Fish.

I'm pretty sure it will get built as is. This is the final plan, its been in the works for ten months. The govenor of kentucky has approved of it, and the mayor of Louisville,ky, and its gotten a good response from the citezens and the art community. and i'm pretty sure they wouldn't put something out that was unfit to be built. And plus in a recent article the architect specifically said he would have never released the rendering if he had any doubts that it wasn't going to be built. Plus this is the second skyscraper that this site has attracted. The first one, the Vencor tower did not get built because Vencor went bankrupt (which was not the cities fault). So this means two things IMO: the site is suitable for a skyscraper, and the city knows what needs to be done in order to prep the site. And also, I think the developers know what not to do and what to do in order to get this built just by looking at what caused the Venvor tower to fail. It will get built, you all will see :)

Thank You! I wish people from all over the Ohio Valley could just appreciate this tower, and come to love. But obviously some won't, but I know for fact not everyone in the Ohio Valley thinks its ugly.
