  1. That post is tagged “April Fool’s”, so probably not very reliable haha.
  2. I just went by this site today and it looks like they’ve finally broken ground on this project. I was really expecting it to never happen after 4 years of delays now.
  3. The rail trail does sound interesting! That railway is active though, right? It seems like it would be kind of tight to run a trail safely alongside the tracks.
  4. NOACA gave a TLCI grant for planning the park in 2016, which I'd imagine is all unofficial, but they did estimate the cost of the park accompanying trails at $43.6 million. Their estimate for stabilization at the time was $44.9 million. https://www.noaca.org/regional-planning/transportation-planning/irishtown-bend PDF of the vision plan: https://www.noaca.org/home/showdocument?id=22222
  5. My understanding is that the airport started tearing down houses, hence those vacant streets. They retained the option to tear down the rest of the houses north of Sheldon in the future for the runway expansion, but that’s obviously been put off for quite a while now.
  6. I’ve never checked it out, but apparently the Lake-to-Lakes Trail does exactly that: https://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2016/07/a_visual_tour_of_the_lake_to_l.html
  7. I thought this looked familiar, so I did some exploring on Google Streets, and it looks like it's here on Willey near the APL: https://www.google.com/maps/@41.4804518,-81.6971538,3a,58.5y,243.53h,77.19t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s8fqlywwnYNuSxa4ZvzE8mQ!2e0!7i16384!8i8192
  8. Revitalization Plan for Southland in Middleburg Heights. It’s only one rendering, but it looks like a massive improvement. https://www.cleveland.com/community/2020/06/middleburg-heights-unveils-vision-for-southland-revitalization.html
  9. http://www.cityofbrookpark.com/city-council/ The 3/3 and 2/18 approved council minutes PDF’s are the ones I quoted.
  10. I've been checking the Brook Park city council minutes every so often to see if there's any update on their former Ford site. It sounds like Rivian may be out if we're to assume that's who the mayor is talking about as the original bidder. There are a ton of new EV startups out there that I think would see a similar appeal to the Ford site that Rivian did, so I wonder if one of those could be the 2nd or 3rd bidder the mayor mentions. From 2/18/20: From 3/3/20 (Mayor Gammella speaking):

I’d imagine there is no other such trail, just because there are not typically major cities so close to national parks. However, this summer I did visit Grand Teton National Park and there was a very nice multi-purpose trail connecting the city of Jackson to the national park.
  12. A few years ago, I remember thinking that it was surprising how few coffee shops there were in Lakewood. Since then, Rising Star, Goodkind, Brewella’s, Addicted, Playgrounds, Caffeine, Starbucks, and Burning River Coffee have all popped up and places like KB Confections and Ice Cream Joy added a cafe element. I’m sure I’m even missing a few.

Apparently they’d want to fly into Burke. https://viewfromthewing.com/jetblue-founders-new-airline-breeze-airways-will-launch-this-year/
  14. Project Overview from 2016 Assuming the scope hasn’t changed much over the years, the auditorium will be turned into a state-of-the-art meeting and event space. I’m optimistic about this project. Those buildings seem like a big waste of a good location. I certainly think the apartments would be very appealing for NASA employees and interns that want the shortest possible commute.
  15. Based on this news and past hints, my first guess would be a new Canon Medical Campus in Fairfax (along the Opportunity Corridor maybe). There, the Toshiba and Quality Electrodynamics facilities could be unified (and hopefully expanded upon), and be much more convenient to the hospitals, Case and CSU.
  16. Metroparks recently updated (or just created?) their master plan for the Lakefront parks. It’s cool to see the vision mapped out, and I especially love that they’re targeting water taxi stops at Merwin’s Wharf, Canal Basin, and Wendy Park. https://www.clevelandmetroparks.com/getmedia/a9b31afb-6ac9-4f7d-bea0-5f3f299e8f5e/LAKEFRONT_M_P_DEC2019.pdf.ashx
