Cincinnati: Downtown: Development and News
Updated images of Paycor (?) as it looks like the terracotta cladding is wrapping up. I'm liking this different color and material choice for downtown. Might be the lighting today, but I'm wondering if the cladding of the color couldn't have been closer to the orange-y terracotta tones from the renderings?

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
Snapped some photos today of the convention center today! A lot of the glazing on Fifth is installed. And the main entrance at the corner is taking shape as it turns on Elm.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Terrace Plaza Hotel
I think that the Court street development and Library plaza renovations are helping push the stretch of Vine between fountain square and OTR in the right direction. But it would definitely be great if Garfield could have a street presence again, and for something (anything!) to happen at the parking lot blocks between 7th and 8th. Maybe the newer residential at the Macy's and Guild buildings can spur this??

I was also concerned about the arch! I've been walking around the site during lunch lately. It does look like they're removing it piece by piece. I guess I never thought about it being mostly facade pieces and columns on a newer frame. Other photos included from my walk.

There's a Business Courier article now about them opening at Fountain Square! I do not have a sub so can't see the actual location: https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2024/04/02/mi-cozumel-mexican-restaurant-open-fountain-square.html

Dayton: Wright-Dunbar / Westside: Development and News
I was recently in Dayton doing some research and searched for a lunch place. I was intrigued by West Social Food Hall and it's Filipino offering. Having very little exposure to Dayton and it's development, I was pleasantly surprised by this area! Seems like the development of this small business district with the surrounding residential neighborhood would be a nice place to live! I couldn't find much info about this, but according to reviews of surrounding businesses, many of them were black owned as well? Very cool. The food hall was busy enough for a Friday lunch hour, with all the businesses open. Looked nice and I was wondering how they do during the weekends. I saw an art studio, salons and clothing stores. The street was fairly active. Also looked like a new ice cream shop was under construction. Just wanted to report on how the area is currently doing! Not sure if anyone else has recent experiences with the area?

imagine having those large openings, and wanting to close them all up! "yeah, this'll be nice" what a moment for design appreciation- Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Does the panel feel similar to the product used at the Shakespeare? The overlapping transparent panel over solid and glass gives me the same vibes as that project. I assumed (maybe naively) that they could be similar since GBBN is designer on both.- Cincinnati: Fountain Square: Development and News
