  1. Newton Avenue is really awesome. I saw it for the first time last year and was blown away, even though it's 3/4 a block long, Very cool.
  2. Potential? It's quickly becoming a reality. Lots were being purchased here for $5,000 no more than 3 years ago. No deals like that to be had here anymore...
  3. ^Bingham.
  4. I remember when Bob Stark was looking at redeveloping the Warehouse District lots way back in 2007 and he said something like "it's not difficult to convince 1% of any group of people to do anything" in reference to people questioning getting 30,000 people downtown. I also believe that convincing the next 2% of people is easier than convincing the first 1%, and the next 3% and so on... It's an exponentially growing momentum hopefully.
  5. I think people are looking for problems when there are none. The way I see it, more people attract more people. Density attracts more density. Downtown AND the neighborhoods can grow and compliment each other. Not to say we shouldn't look out for the pitfalls of growth, but it almost seems like paranoia.
  6. Why is everyone worried about this not being completed? The last 4 weeks of a project is when the most visual progress takes place.
  7. Love Sam Klein.
  8. K&D's first dip into downtown was Stonebridge if I'm not mistaken.
  9. Dr. Rosenblith's space is awesome.
  10. Actually, it's been done since the mid 90's. These architects spoke at KSU in 2001 and have been doing it for a while. http://www.lot-ek.com/
  11. Also check out the Whitney Museum in NYC, another Breuer with a somewhat similar element.
  12. Looks like the Fifth Third Bank Building also grew by 15 stories.
  13. Nothing, it's not part of the scope. Could give it a nice new neighbor though.
  14. Looks like a big announcement is scheduled for tomorrow... Please Join the Group Plan Commission for a special announcement about Public Square Tuesday, July 15, 2014 10:00 a.m. Southwest Quadrant of Public Square RSVP – [email protected] (rain plan to be announced in case of inclement weather)
  15. Come on, there are bigger fish to fry here folks. There's equipment on every single building and this one has had a revolving door of it for 60 years. Think we need to live with this one.
  16. The 9 still looks like the Action News logo. Goes to show that you can have all the money in the world, but you can't buy taste.
  17. Wow, never thought I'd see that sequence of words in a publication.
  18. What makes you think a department store would work there? Have you done the market analysis that proves it out? If so I think we'd all like to see it.
  19. Two new single family houses South of Lorain (W26th & Keene Ct.) that the design studio I work for is currently working on. LPM Real Estate out of Lakewood is the developer. Two vacant houses were demolished earlier this year to accommodate them and we're hoping to break ground later this summer.
  20. Preach on Strap.
  21. Wow, the logo for 1717 is truly awful.
  22. Hard to believe they wouldn't have heard of it it they live in Ohio City or Tremont.
  23. I agree that Public Square is not this toilet bowl that it's currently made out to be. It's expertly landscaped and well maintained. The new plans are very exciting however.
