Cleveland: Little Italy: Development and News
While this use and location clearly doesn't make, at least it's something that's easily removed if a new plan comes into being. Thankfully it's not in the hands of a gas station or bank.

Cleveland: Historic Photos
Amazing photo, such an active corner (read my post footer). Though it's interesting to see how the NW corner of the intersection became more diminutive in stature as the years went on if you scroll up thread a bit. Eventually leading to the corner and a good part of the sidewalk heading west actually being empty in its current state.

Cleveland: Downtown: Jack Cleveland Casino - Phase 2
I wasn't aware this was through all the design review/planning processes. I can't believe this thing has been allowed to be built... CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Assembly of the Horseshoe Casino skywalk outside the Prospect Avenue entrance of the former downtown May Co. store is hampering efforts to market the mostly vacant building, says a lawsuit that seeks to halt the work. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2013/10/suit_seeks_to_move_assembly_of.html#incart_river_default

I'm going to bite my tongue on this topic for the most part, but R&R, it's not a happy situation when someone you know, maybe even close to, is losing their business, is it? Your snide and insensitive remarks from roughly a year ago really come to mind when I see you trying to drum up support for a friend who has put her heart and soul into something in this City. I hope it makes you think before you pile on people who have put their neck on the line to make Cleveland a better place. That's all I'm going to say and have a great afternoon.

Cleveland: Downtown: Euclid & 9th Tower / Schofield Building Redevelopment
They can replace damages facades to match. Basically the same situation as 668. Hopefully this time the new material infill is not painted to match the existing. That turns out less than great in my opinion, not to mention the ridiculous exposed side cornice detail.

There's some truth to that, but he was always respectful and often constructive about it. Those who want to bring the city back might want to listen to the concerns of that group. You're going to need some of them, at least. Not in a million years. I know that "group" very well. He grew up in the same neighborhood as my mom and graduated from John Adams shortly after her. It is that "group" that abandoned the city (including my mom) and then harped about it for the next 50 years complaining "what it had become". It gets so tiresome to hear them say over and over what this use to be like when I personally place much of the blame on them. Agreed.

The "perspective view" on the third page is very realistic looking.

Grrr. More fast food to feed the diabetes tidal wave coming to this country. It's already happening in poor neighborhoods like this. But back on topic, it is good to see a structure being built on that spot. Unfortunately Carnegie is simply a lost cause for it's entirety. People complained when lower income people were starving in the 20th century, people complain that they're too fat in the 21st...

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
The tag lines for these new residential properties are simply hilarious. "Become yourself..." Or... "Everything debonair..." I really wonder who is coming up with this.

Anyone have any info on the building on the south side of Huron near Star Plaza that will be turned into a few dozen apartments? I think it was lost in the server crash.

Not sure we're to put this, but the fountain at the NE quad of Public Square was at legitimate full blast this week. Looks so much better than a dried out pit, which its been ever since I can remember.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
I think you mean Center Street swing Bridge... And yes, a pedestrian friendly lift bridge where the old Main Avenue swing bridge was located would help not only the east bank, but offer direct access to the west bank/Jacobs property/Aquarium, extending the grasp of downtown in a lot of ways.
