Leaving a trace of the work that went into rehabbing this building, ontop of the fact that there is nothing wrong with a subtle randomness to a stone facade, would give another layer of interest to the facade. I think it would have been interesting to PURPOSELY contrast the existing terra cotta with the new. Maybe use a different color terra cotta all together. I suppose this would put historic tax credits at risk, but that only reveals the shortcomings of the Ohio rules for historic redevelopment.

Dear Lord... If that's what this ends up being I now oppose this issue.

It's unfortunate that they will be painting over the terra cotta (an even worse idea than painting over brick). I thought the contrast between the old and new terra cotta would leave an interesting facade treatment, they did this on many of the buildings along east 4th and it looks great. In my opinion, this is another example of K&D doing a great project but falling short on the details that could make a project even better.

There is nothing romantic about a river being so polluted that it ignites from the chemicals. Please... don't go there... Let's not make it look 'cool' because it isn't. I think it's kind of cool that we are known for a burning river. What's more bad ass than completely defying nature. I think we should catch the river on fire every year for a huge city festival to extricate the city's demons. We shouldn't allow people's assumptions to define what that fire meant to the city. Take a negative connotation and make it a positive.

I am so tired of the Moda fear tactics that continue on West 25th Street. The place has been closed for almost 4 years. As a neighborhood resident, I'm quite sure the neighborhood's negative attitude is the reason why this place is still empty. As great as Ohio City is (I've lived here for 4+ years), its residents are quite annoying at times.

Actually the new burrito place is in the former Monestary space.

I can't find the Ohio City thread, but this is close enough. Scaffolding has been constructed around the perimeter of the building at the NE corner of Market Avenue & West 26th, and they look to be renovating the upper floors (Great Lakes Brewing Company's nwe gift shop is located on the first floor. Not sure what will be housed in the building, but it would be pretty cool to live in the unit with the corner tower. (This is an older folder that does not show the scaffolding).

So the direction of the future for this organization is being dictated by an 87 year old man. That makes a lot of sense. Good ridance to these people.

I have heard a rumor about Bar Symon opening at the Q. Hopefully it becomes reality.

Of course it looks like Cleveland gets screwed with the existing AmShack. I wonder if there is any way to temporarly merge the waterfront line station with Amtrack's needs, at least to create a better entrance point to the city until we can built a proper station.
