Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Ask and you shall receive. As proof that jmasek and jetdog pass along our suggestions and comments, the railings at the W25th Street Station have gotten a fresh coat of paint and are looking good. Well done RTA.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
While TC is efficient, it would be nice if the center served the interests of citizens of the city as well. Read the text that wraps the existing CC...

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
After it gets to a certain height it can hang over. I don't think that will be neccessary though with the elimination of the delivery docks ramping up 500'.

Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
Yeah, this may be worse. And to think that the designer probably thinks he/she is doing a service to the May Company Building by simply slapping fiberglass panels made to look like terra cotta onto something that doesn't relate in scale, use, etc, just a nightmare, damn.

Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
Dear Lord. Even when compared to other crappy architecture meant to mimic an existing structure, that entry thing takes the freaking cake. How can the city let this zit manifest itself on such a prominent building? And on Public Square no less(!) I have no problem with this restaurant going in there, but that thing is just embarrassing.

We get enough of the negatives from cleveland.com, thanks for the tip though.

Forbes: America's Fastest Dying Cities
^Rando, you equating the fact that Cincinnatti wasn't on this list to being so much more ahead of Cleveland in terms of development is really getting annoying, and is untrue. "From the ground," nearly every building in Downtown Cleveland that hasn't already been rehabbed in the past 10 years, is planning to be or is in the process of being renovated as we speak. Our downtown population is the second fastest growing in the Midwest. So if Cincy is "booming by Midwest standards" Cleveland is a nuclear attack. I don't make it down to southern ohio very often to gauge what is going on down there, and I doubt you make it up here on a consistent basis to know what the hell is going on, so I'm not sure why you're continuing on and on. Congrats, you missed one negative list. There's always, the Most Segregated Cities List, the Outside of the Largest 50 US cities List, top 10 poorest cities, whatever. Using your math of taking info from these lists, Cin has just as many problems as Cleveland, Dayton, and Youngstown.

Forbes: America's Fastest Dying Cities
"Luckily Cincinnati is starting to dodge them, but Dayton and Cleveland have a real problem here." I disagree, from what I've seen Cincinnatti has been hit by more of these types of polls than it has dodged.

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
The thing about Burning River Fest being held at Whiskey Island was that you really didn't need any sort of entertainment to have a good time. Whiskey Island and the views were entertainment enough. I'm not too excited about hanging out in a parking lot this year.

I think it would be interesting to live near a working waterfront, but that's me.

Here's to hoping an international competition is assembled for this project, but I don't have much faith in this seeing what was acceptable to the county for the county offices for the Breuer site.

Randomness from Ohio's Grandest
Thanks for your opinion. Isn't it obvious that that is the thread creator's opinion? It's hard to say it isn't Ohio's grandest, look at the competition.

Cuyahoga County: Corruption Probe
Is there anything to be said about Cimperman being on a course to take over as the area's democratic leader in the near future from Dimora? Such a strange situation all this is. This is totally out of control if the Cimperman fire has anything to do with this. We're talking about peoples' lives here. Sounds like the Danny Greene situation from the 70's.

While it isn't officeDA's strongest effort, I have faith in them and Stanley Saitowitz/Natoma that it will come out better than it looks in the renderings. The parking lot comments are ridiculous.
