  1. Wow, over 100 units. I didn't think it was that large.
  2. ^I see what you're saying but these architects and developers should see issues like that and think of them as opportunities to do something interesting. Instead they automatically say, "need windows, tear down the adjacent building." What if light wells were carved into the Charter one building to let light flow down instead of demolishing it for an alley. Don't know exactly what the problem is with strictly Prospect car entrance, but there are certainly better ways to get what they need. I guess we have to let it play out and hope for the best becasue obviously needs the rehab..
  3. Certainly not happy with tearing down yet another building on Euclid Avenue. Just bullsh!t, when are developers going to get it?
  4. The count includes 4 sides. A misprint. Tub count stands at 1,314.
  5. ^I've never used the words "tubs" that many times in my life.
  6. doh! There are only 3 sides that have the tubs, and they don't all start at the same level, and aren't even all consistent with the amount of tubs horizontally in a "set." Unfortunately I don't have plans for the actual tubs, just a small representation of them.
  7. I counted last night (Live Locals birdseye tool was the way to go), and I counted 1,314. I thought it was mentioned elsewhere in this thread, but it was sonehow easier to count them then sift through 41 pages. Now about those Xmas Ales...
  8. Not sure if anyone knows this off hand, but how many concrete "tubs" are there in the tower?
  9. ^Bang and Clatter Theater perhaps?
  10. ^He would have had to pay $1,000,000 if he said anything. He didn't get $1,000,000 for keeping his mouth shut.
  11. Here's the Bolivar facades I was referencing above. The line at the bottom of the postcard is good: "one of the finest low price stag hotels in Downtown Cleveland." I bet those walls could talk.
  12. I forgot to mention that these are the Joshua Hall condos at 1148 Prospect for those who are unfamiliar.
  13. On February 25 I said I would post some photos, and now 9 months later, here are some pics I took this morning. The Prospect facade has had a new storefront constructed, tile cleaned, and light fixtures installed. On the left side is the residential entrance lobby with call and mailboxes, and on the right, Korfant and Mazzone Construction will have their new offices at ground level, and 4 condos (2 sold as of this week)above. When combined with the new loft condos and retail below in the building to the west, Prospect is really starting to get a nice human scale to it. On the Bolivar side is another resident entrance and parking garage. Interestingly, the Bolivar side was part of an expanse of a larger agglomeration of facades up until the 50's or 60's (I'll post a photo of the old facade later). Other photos include the interior constructions of the 2 units that have been sold to this point. One has a steel stair that ascends from the 2nd level to a 4th story clerestory that pops through the SE roof (if you walk by it's visible from down Bolivar). All units will have rooftop access, and the skyline views are pretty sweet. Enjoy.
  14. You're just a bundle of enthusiasm.
  15. Just a randon comment, but it looks like Google maps has updated the satelite photos of Cleveland. Seeing as the Cavs Jersey is on the Terminal Tower and the Swing bridge has the ROAD CLOSED sign in front of it, I would have to say it was taken in May or early June around 5:00 in the evening (check out the Indians taking batting practice at Jacob's Field). http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Cleveland,+OH,+USA&sa=X&oi=map&ct=title
  16. That's probably what I'll end up doing. I forget that the 25 goes all the way to Shaker Square.
  17. KJP's answer is correct. I ride the rail daily, and there have been several instances lately where a train has stopped on the track, and other trains have to single-track around it. This causes delays, but the trains do keep running. We apologize for the inconvenience. The emotion in your letter reminds me of a phone call I received recently. A former co-worker (at another agency) verbally blasted RTA because her bus was late one morning. I checked, and the reason it was late was because, early in the run, a passenger had suffered a heart attack, and the operator waited for EMS to show up and transport him. When the caller learned this, she apologized for being so "over the top." Things happen, and we react as best we can to provide service under sometimes less than ideal conditions. In my opinion, it is always best to keep emotions in check until the facts are known. Thanks for asking. Just ranting. If it's the worst I have to deal with I'll consider myself lucky.
  18. The bad week for me and RTA continues. I was planning on taking the rapid to Shaker Square Theater tonight for a 9:40 show, but since the last train leaves SS for TC at 11:40, I'll have to figure out some other way to get across the city. Very convenient...
  19. ^^Thanks KJP. ^I have and didn't notice anything nearing the aggravation that was caused by the RTA's system. If the train needs to stop because of the train ahead of it, just stop the train for a minute or so instead of stopping then accelerating for a few seconds, and then coming to a complete stop over and over again. When standing on a crowded rush hour train it's a real pain in the ace.
  20. Ok jmasek, I know this has been mentioned somewhere on this site but I'd like to hear an answer from the horse's mouth. What in the hell is the beeping on the Red Line trains that alert the driver to slow down or come to a complete stop? Never in my life have I been so frustrated on mass transit as I was yesterday when it took 11 minutes to get from the Tower City station to West 25th Street. And the duration wasn't the most frustrating, it was the fact that we stopped, started, stopped, etc at least a dozen times on the viaduct. I have been on transit systems around the world and I must say this is the most RIDICULOUS thing I have ever experienced. Hands down. What is up with this?
  21. The letter from Sheffield reveals how ignorant the layman is to this project.
  22. Don't forget about Zayres and Gold Circle...
  23. ^The floor in the Euclid Tavern. Zing.
  24. That is pretty damn close if they recreated it, but it almost looks as though it was refurbished. Either way, nice.
  25. You get the same amount of LEED points for putting in a bike rack as you do for reusing an entire building (learned this at one of the Breuer Tower symposiums). Remember, LEED is a product SELLING organization. And new buildings sell more product than existing ones.
