  1. Nope, never been. Maybe I'll stop by at lunch tomorrow...
  2. Excellent selection Frank Jackson. Impressive that the city FINALLY recognizes the importantance of design.
  3. I'd be more interested getting into the Breuer Tower, but I guess I'll check out the Rotunda, see what the big deal is.
  4. The county has the freaking nerve to put signs all over the Rotunda and Breuer entrance that read, "Building on our Heritage." It makes me want to spew.
  5. What's the yellow in the middle of the Hoyt Block?
  6. ^I definetly agree. You can't say that MORE people would utilize stores and amenities at Tower City if the convention center were in a different location. It just depends on what your motivations are: A.) helping exisiting retail and restaurants, and utilizing current mass transit options at TC. B.) trying to preserve an existing historic structure and getting supposedly more lake access at the current site. I side with the TC site because I'd like to see a thriving Public Square more so than getting Lake access. And I just can't see the convention center jumping the tracks and Shoreway working well for some reason. But I do like the idea of the current site's possibility of integrating passenger service. That needs to be a reality for me to change sides.
  7. Everybody is pitching something to Eaton these days; Jacob's, Wolstein, Stark
  8. What are you talking about?

^Apparently more below the poverty line than Cleveland for next 365 days. Then they can start throwing darts at the top 15 cities and see who's number 1. The census bureau is worthless, and what is the point of coming up with this every year? Does it really have any annual relavance?

Cincinnatti must have taken Cleveland's 942 poorest residents from 2005 to 2006. What a loss.

And Cincinnatti isn't losing population? What planet are you living on rando?

    These rankings are so ridiculous.
  13. I love seeing a clan of homeless people and their trash as the front page of cleveland.com. Thanks suburban catholic girl.
  14. ^^Dude, how about you settle down with that.
  15. That architecture firm will have absolutely nothing to do with the design of the CC. Forest City subs them out to do studies for projects like these then gets design firms in to do the actual design. This study was done just to see if it would fit basically.
  16. Close, but this thing was pretty elaborate. It included a car wash with working bristles, a parking structure with elevation, and gas station. Bad ass. But anyways...
  17. I can't find any photos of the Shell Gas and Car Wash Station on google, but the red/yellow/white in the construction photos made me think of it. Legos= Greatest toy ever invented
  18. Those photos look like a Shell Gas Station Lego set from the 1980's going up. Weird comment, yes, but awesome scene.
  19. Black leaders complaining about dilluted representation in a regional government is bullsh!t in my opinion. If your city is more successful and more people have jobs, isn't that what's really important? This issue goes right to the core of politicians' motivations; looking out for themselves as opposed to that of the greater good.

I mean putting up billboards in the suburbs, get them where they live. I don't know, have a photo of a tree lined tightly knit Tremont/Ohio City street on a billboard off the horribly car oriented I-271. It just seems to me that having signs in your own city proper saying "Believe in Cleveland" seems real weak. It feels too cheerleader'ish. The city should at least appear confident in itself.

This sort of thing seems kind of pathetic to me. And wouldn't it make more sense to place these things outside of the city (suburbs, other metro areas)? I mean if you live in the city proper, you probably already support the city and what it stands for.
  22. I can't imagine what she would write about those knuckleheads. "Alcohol infused beggars stalk all downtown residents," next week in the PD. I wouldn't give her the time of day.
  23. From the renderings I've seen, yes you can...

How can anyone smile when they are in the poorest city in america and there is no free and convenient parking so I can keep getting fatter? -Dick Feagler

I am in. There needs to be an alternative voice to all this.
