Ouch! That picture from Reading is uglier than I envisioned.

Landing at CVG
The C&O is literally running through my backyard in that Glenway/Bridgetown pic. I hope they reactivate that line for light rail someday before I die. It's cool seeing the westside from that point of view. Amazing how close downtown is! Great pics Jake!

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
So, why is Smitherman allowed to vote on streetcar issues? Seems like an ethics issue to me. Didn't Bortz take heat and have to abstain from voting for a similar situation early on?

Cincinnati: South Fairmount: Development and News
Is it feasable to daylight the creek and keep the buildings (or at least most of them)? I think their is too much green space anyway in the current green alternative. I'm picturing the creek that runs through Gatlinburg where buildings and roads hug the creek. Rock retaining walls are in place yet some buildings back right up to the creek. Obviously our creek isn't going to be this wide.

Cincinnati: Western Hills: Development and News
Is anyone familiar with this company and or their Milford HQ? I'm finding it hard to picture what the ultimate goal here is and which building they plan to reuse or demolish in the process. I wish they would tear all of the Glenway Crossing buildings down and start over, preferably leaving room for a future light rail station. :-D TQL opening West Side office, adding 80 jobs Business Courier Date: Monday, July 23, 2012, 12:35pm EDT http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2012/07/23/tql-opening-west-side-office-adding.html

Cincinnati: Downtown: W&S Condominium Project (3rd & Broadway)
Correct me if I am wrong, but the majority of the money for the renovation is coming from the state and the city of Cincinnati. The Inn is only paying for a small portion of the renovation. Which brings up a point we should all be concerned with, is renovating a 100 plus year old building the best use of tax dollars? or is it better to build a new modern facility maybe it would cost less and serve more people. Saving tax dollars. On the issue of renovation vs new construction, considering most buildings we build these days will in no way, shape, or form last 100 years, one can argue that would be a waste of tax dollars. At least buildings built prior to WWII have the potential to last for many more generations, hense maximizing any investment made in them. Just my opinion.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Washington Park
This park and the successes since the grand re opening have exceeded my expectations X 10.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I think they will have a canopy west of the Roebling bridge with the swings. I noticed those tall poles above the waterfalls actually light up at night and they change color with the waterfalls. I was critical of these at first, but I have to admit they look pretty cool at night.

Congrats to buildingcincinnati!
Well deserved!! Congrats!

They could've used a picture that didn't focus on the back of the buildings facing Freedom Way. Either way, it's good to see NYT taking notice.

Cincinnati: Downtown: City Club Apartments / 309 Vine Redevelopment
I would've loved to see the never finished tower built upon 309! The rendering is sick!!

Cincinnati: Downtown: Smale Riverfront Park
Not sure about SP. I recommend checking this out in person though. Not one person this weekend ever mentioned the need for more water pressure. It was almost surreal to hear the positive conversations and hopes of people young and old. We found ourselves entertained for hours watching the kids having such a good time. I have a feeling you'll like it as is once viewed in person.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Smale Riverfront Park
^I imagine they don't want to drown the kids or launch them into the river. Judging by the amount of kids I've seen interacting through it this weekend, I personally believe it's perfect and is what the designers set out to accomplish. It's a human scale, not one that can or needs to be seen from Covington.

Incredible turnout tonight! The crowd exceeded my expectations 10 fold. It was amazing how people mingled way past the band shutting down for the evening.

I'm hearing from some of the residents in the Banks that Yard House is going in on the east part of the empty lot due south of the Freedom Center http://www.yardhouse.com

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
^PG has a westside base? I was unaware of that. I thought most of his votes (and money) came from the east. It's a moot point yet I still have my own personal reservations about this guy. He's quick to rub elbows with the downtown crowds and get his picture taken tapping kegs in all, yet he really hasn't done a damn thing to advance the streetcar cause. Does he still skirt around the question when asked directly about the streetcar?

Cincinnati: Eliminating Parking Requirements for Downtown & OTR
I hear things like this all the time: "I would go to more Reds games if parking wasn't such a hassle." "I went to Reverfest once. I liked the fireworks, but I don't think it was worth putting up with traffic." "I can't move my business downtown because I need space to load my trucks." "I hope my conpany never moves downtown because parking is so expensive." Those same people have been using those excuses for decades. You couldn't drag them downtown!! That's their loss.
