I have gone back and forth over the years as well, pros and cons but with all that has been going on DT over the past half decade, -----An issue like this has the potential to propell the basin into HIGH GEAR. Whether this goes into NKY or Cincy, both side will benefit. Large scale Hotel projects, more people eating DT and in NKY. Obviously one side will have tax revenue, but the other will see an economic boost as well. Anymore, I believe the risk is worth it!

Would you guys want to expand on these statements? I am just curious. What would be so bad (or so different) if Ohio were to beat KY to the punch? I personally like to dabble at some of the boats, but I would love to see this different form of entertainment for the Ohio side. (I would never visit Ind. boats again, along with many others.) Obviously there is an economic benefit, yet a moral conflict of sorts as well. I am not one that buys into the increased crime propaganda around casinos. The added foot traffic alone from one casino anywhere along the river, COULD (IMO) have a bigger economic impact than either stadium. (Year round traffic as opposed to seasonal.) What say u????????????
  5. But NKY has their giant force field which will ultimately repel any type of economic downturn. They also have sharks with laser beams on their heads too!
  6. Are there not teen clubs on Main Street? So who's the idiot? I apologise there big DANB! I THOUGHT I remember reading he had a 16 yr old. (not in the article above) I sure don't know ANY clubs that accommodate that age. (18 and up sure.) Sorry I am not a teenie club bopper. Somebodies panties are riding up into never, never land though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take a deep breath! Say this aloud three times - "3,2,1,1,2,3 What the hell is bothering me"
  7. Should he really allow his teenaged son to go to a bar district anywhere? Am I missing something here? I thought the same thing. What an idiot! *CAUTION* - Typ. Cincinnati Political 3 Ring Circus Ahead!

  10. “They are essentially wanting taxpayers to pay twice for the same piece of property. I’m not going to support that,” DeWine said. I would hope not, now that this could be considered blatant public corruption, right in the taxpayers face. Horrible PR on part of the Freedom Center!!!!!!!! Remenber that when they are asking the city/county to keep them open in '09
  11. ^ Hey, we could use those six colors for the painting of the bridges in another thread! Everything could match. :bang:
  12. ^very complex!
  13. Debateable!
  14. We have all discussed this before here. Moving to another neighborhood, without a fight from those residents, doesn't look to promising either. The Drop Inn Center is just going to have to take responsibility for the people that it attracts. I know all there intensions are good, but wouldn't the LOITERING issue have to be addressed by them and/or the city if they are inundated by complaints by the ever increasing amount of folks moving downtown????????????
  15. Can homeless shelter mix with condos? BY JANE PRENDERGAST | [email protected] E-mail | Print | digg us! | del.icio.us! | Click-2-Listen OVER-THE-RHINE – For three decades, Cincinnati’s Drop Inn Center homeless shelter has given a bed and meals to all comers, few questions asked. The largest shelter in the region, it harbors as many as 250 people a night. Off and on for all that time, the shelter has weathered scrutiny for everything from its mission and funding to its location.
  16. It will be interesting to see how this region reacts to the upcoming year. (Nationally - The negative economic outlook!)
