Miscellaneous Ohio Political News
"His working and playing well with others, that seems to be something he is good at," Anderson said. "That might help in an intensely partisan climate right now." I know this is more of KY thing, but maybe he should get involved with the Brent Spence funding issue. The more states involved screaming the same thing may help us get another "GEM" for the riverfront. Faster than the current process!

Cincinnati: General Business & Economic News
"hilltop overlooking Taylor Creek." This is over 1-2 miles from the interchange. ????????? You would have to enter off of Wesselman. Surely they would not turn that new piece of s%it subdivision into a main thoroughway to get to that piece of land out on the point overlooking Miamitown and Taylor Creek.\ Ignorant!

A Little Bit of Riverfest
Great Shots!! New Plan banned all Metro buses from the Western Hills Plaza indefinitely last December due to numerous reasons. Main reason was they were tearing the parking lot up and creating giant potholes and the county refused to compensate the new owners for the damages.

That is all we got. Generally, the contractors that hire us are concrete related so I would assume they are starting with bids related to foundation work and maybe site prep. I don't know too many details other than what has been discussed on this thread. Obvious, they must be moving forward if 1st revision plans are out for bid though.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
No, not construction! Just BIDS! Not as relavant as breaking ground, but it is the beginning stages of construction planning. I have no idea as to a start date though. Summer or Fall of 08 probably. Agree, it will take several months to get the site ready whenever they bring the garage down.

I do like the Ivy idea! Would look a little better. On a side note yet related, I have always wondered why the state doesn't plant wildflowers within the grass medians. I see it alot down south and not only does it look better aesthetically, but hey no more mowing.

Oh and there are plenty of farms in western HamCo that are flat and have yet to be crapped on yet. Only a matter of time. True! Not that I don't ever think they will develop west of the Great Miami, but one major factor with 74 staying as rural as it is has would have to be the lack of sewers and water. All the growth on Harrison Ave near the 74-275 interchange would have been much more difficult 10-15 years back.

True, right where 74 meets 275 is the Colerain Twp line and I won't argue with you that they destroyed that particular section awesome looking hills. I find myself mixed when it comes to this area because even though most of it is crap that they are building, it is development in HAMILTON CTY. We need all we can get!!!! And unfortunately the hills are all that hasn't been developed yet. Kind of a Catch 22, Double edged sword if you will!!!!!!!!?????????

The latest newsletter from the trustees puts that issue at the forefront for the Twp. buying up as much land as they can get their hands on near the highway. I know the area near Rybolt and North Bend is far beyond gone, but there is a lot of green space still left from Mt Airy to the Rybolt area.

Official ODOT Wasteful Spending Thread!
Many have complimented the city, Green Twp, and Whitwater Twp for holding to that Green Belt so unnecessary spending will not be needed in the future. Needs to be a standard thoughout the state though.

U.S. Infrastructure Found to Be in Disrepair
I think it will be more defined along the generational lines. Most young people today will at least, throw around the idea of moving into an already established urban area where most of our parents grew up trying to get out of it. Look at how the demographics have changed in the last 50 years. Sadly, it will be another 10 to 20 years before we see the true results of what I say. (And I could be completely wrong about this too!) Sorry, off subject!

Official ODOT Wasteful Spending Thread!
Don't move next to the interstate! Ohio should have regulated all residential developers from building within a certain distance from the highway years ago. (Nothing could be done for existing neighborhoods that were there before the highway) Waste of funds all around. LOOKS HIDEOUS Example I-71 Cincinnati Good Example I-74 Cincinnati Green Belt

Wasn't able to attend this year and I will be the first to say channel 5 sucks! I could have given a better show than they did. Embarrassing that the Pentagon was airing this on Armed Forces TV for the first time and they had to listen to these clowns. Great shots though RV, I am jealous of your perch!!!!!!
