Northern Kentucky: Random Development and News
I have to agree! I would love to see them reopen across the river though. Whatever happen to the idea a couple years back of a restaraunt opening on the Purple PB? I know logistically it would be tough, but would definitely stand out as unique to see elongated food joints put on the bridge parallel to the ped side of the bridge facing west with outside dining. Yet, keeping the RR track side open for possible future streetcar! One can dream, right!

Seicer, Are you positive about the Paddock bridge? You probably know more than I, because the last I read about it was last year and they made it sound as if it were going to have to come down. I will complain about the lack of planning but would love for them to keep the bridge even if they have to pull some no shoulder (Brent Spence style) ideas. It just seems to me that the outside lanes are going to be too close for comfort to the headwalls and I can just see it being a problem spot.

I hope they bring these bastards down. Send them back to Atlanta. Another problem I have, NO BIG TEN NETWORK!

Cincinnati: The New Fountain Square - Neon Lights, Movies & People O My!
The energy of the past 2-3 yrs is really starting to come together quite noticeably. The city no longer closes after 5 or 6 pm anymore. People tell me I am easily amused, but living here through out the 90's and vaguely remembering half of the 80's, I can honestly say that I AM LIKING WHAT I AM SEEING LATELY!

Cincinnati Bengals Discussion
Just had to keep it at the top of the first page! Anyway, went to the game last night and didn't really see anything that is going to help us this year! Sucked no Carson, Peyton, or anyone good, but thats ok because we are ready to rock come next Mon night! The highlight of my night was my inaugural visit to Cadillac Ranch. Hoppin little establishment! Very impressed!

That tower in the middle (I guess the Provident Tower) looks awesome. I would love to see a resurgence of MODERN Art Deco in this town(Like the bottom pic). I love the bridge at Paddock and I-75. They did a great job but it tears me apart that they didn't anticipate any future expansion of the interstate. U Planning really is the most important aspect of any 21st century infill program.

Ohio Legislator Takes Lead in War on Skull Fu*king
Same here RV! Amazing that we are at war on several different fronts and have an infrastructure that is crumbling out from under us yet Washington still has the time to have amateur stand up cessions.

What got you so damn interested in cities in the first place?
Aren't they due to come out with a newer version soon? Not that SC4 isn't a kick ass waste of time! More addictive than cigarettes!

Cincinnati's Neighborhood Enhancement Program (NEP)
I hate seeing unnecessary demolition, but this is in the best interest of the neighborhoods that can't find tenants that are going to reinvest. I am impressed with Dohoney, Mallory, and big Odell. I am not one for liking many politicians but I have noticed many positives within the last couple years. 90's was a decade of blight and neglect lead (or lack there of) by our elected officials. These guys show a real determination to genuinely make a difference. My respect for Odell comes from the big scene he created after a murder in Fairmount (I think last year but maybe the year before that)where no eyewitnesses would come forward and he let the people gathered have IT! He is Cincinnati (Tarbell style) through and through.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Hopefully they are just sending the signal that they will be watching! I, personally can't see more than one 30 story building, if that. Low 20's, high teens is more of the reality of the project, but they have to break ground within the next 6 mths or Jimmy James is right. "We can't afford to have another developer walk on this project. There are only so many with the capability to build what amounts to a mini-city, and word travels fast so we can't keep alienating developers and expect to be taken seriously." Word!!

2007 Big city poverty rankings
Shifting Demographics! That is our (midwest) competition. It will come down to which cities appeals most to the next generation of people who do NOT want to live in Suburbia. Most of us grew up in it, and it has certainly lost its luster here in the 21st century. Perhaps one day C-bus will realize there is an entire state beyond the Franklin Cty lines and maybe, just maybe, they will start ACTING like responsible elected officials. Ya know, making decisions that benefit OHIO.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
This comes out now!! Where the hell have they been the last 10 years? As if they didn't know what was going to eventually be built. Taxpayer money! Who is this %$#hole think he is? "The Mayersons, owners of the 312 Walnut Building", well they can go get a bucket and wash my balls.

2007 Big city poverty rankings
KJP- These seemingly dry numbers represent a lot of despair, hopelessness, broken lives, drugs, violent crimes and even deaths. If these numbers were high in just one city, or even a just a few, then we might blame the city's leaders. Instead, these should be a source of shame to every elected state official in Ohio who served in office for the past 60 years. These numbers didn't just happen overnight. They are the culmination of anti-urban policies that have only been getting more anti-urban in recent decades. I hope our state's leaders are proud of their accomplishment. WOW, I mean, WOW!! Anyone able to forward this statement to as many people in Columbus as possible!!

I HOPE!!!! "One of the coolest things I have ever done!" - some kids from Cleveland in town for Bengals/Browns game last year! I will second that!
