Cincinnati Bengals Discussion
I say we suit Mallory up. He has that Receiver looking physique. Maybe he can put on a show trying to catch a ball. :wink2:

Cincinnati: Brent Spence Bridge
Not to change subjects but I believe 12 BILLION A MONTH is spent in Iraq. The f%$#&% govt needs to step back and decide what really is a priority. A half century old interstate system is one of many things that need to top this figgin list. How many people need to die before they decide to fix things. Oh, this didn't happen in DC. They SOB's probably don't even know about it yet! Another example of the disconnect between OUR GOVT and the people. Hopes and Prayers go out to all the great people of Minneapolis from everyone at UO!!

God I hate the Enquirer! Is it $250,000 or $30mill. What do you all take from that. I didn't know we were going to get any help from the gov.

Cincinnati: State of Downtown
It's that type of impression and perception that is making this thing take hold, even with the younger kids coming out of high school. I was in high school in the nineties and nobody had anything good to say about downtown, even me. I overheard a group of about ten high school suburban kids talking about haw there is so much to do in this city. I bout fell off my chair to hear the younger kids having the same feelings that many of us have. (Suburban kids at that)

Cincinnati: State of Downtown
The proverbial corner has already been turned! I am just as excited to see the banks done but I was downtown all weekend with out of towners and though they question the vast openness in between the stadia, it is a split second question/thought and they get taken back by something else. The banks is not going to make or break the momentum going on currently. It WILL HELP though but there are to many other things in motion north of Second St that is making peoples jaws drop who haven't been here within the past year. The '07 energy is definitely electrifying.

GO BIG OR GO HOME!

Cincinnati: West End: The Gateway Park District (Union Terminal)
I think it could be closer to reality than a dream. This city has a love affair with some buildings that they seem to always find the funds to save it or in this case invest as a catalyst for urban renewal. Think of the efforts of this city to salvage UT from the wrecking ball, even Music Hall brought people and money out of nowhere to help save it. With the internet today and private firms now talking of embarking on projects on there own. With the planets lining up like they are! This has the chance to get started soon and really blow the lid off on everything that will and is happening in the valley . Banks, OTR, Eastern Ave, Uptown, streetcars, soon to be P-Hill entertainment district, West End projects, a SUPER BOWL Championship trophy. My friggin head is spinning and I have 3 more hours of work to go!!

Cincinnati: West End: The Gateway Park District (Union Terminal)
It amazes me how dense the West End was in that pic above! Residentially speaking, it is a hollowed out shell of what it was in the early 20 century.

Butler County: 1,000 acre Transportation Hub (freight)
Do you think this would ultimately have a possibility of alleviating some of CSX traffic at the Queensgate yard? 1. Maybe open more rail up for passenger lines that would not be delayed by the hourglass effect through the Mill Creek Valley. 2. (Long Shot) but possibly allow for future land reclamation of (QG yard) for more projects like what the city has been striving for over the past few years. Especially projects directly west of the city. (Sedamsville, Lower P-Hill, Queensgate, West End. Think about the new Union Term. news released earlier today). I think this area has the most potential to become a high-tech modern industrial/ residential / and commercial area that could sustain itself similar in regards to the St Bernard area. Queensgate has so much land that the possibilities are endless especially with a possible rerouting of 75 within the coming years. I often wonder if CSX will ever question, ponder, or plan on trying to relocate traffic to a less urban area.

Outstanding Idea!!! I have a new found respect for Jerry! Speechless right now! Agree with Rando, could be as big if not bigger than the Banks if somebody gets the ball rolling. Would look great from I-75 too! Art deco forever, Stucco never!!!

Cincinnati: Urban Grocery Stores
The great part of the plan is placing the grocery store near the Kroger headquarters, right in view of the CEO's office. I will be able to die a happy man when I see this! That is genius!!!!

Cincinnati Costume Company fire
I was coming down Central at about 8:30 last night and I can say it wasn't your average house fire. This thing was huge and those FF's had there hands full. Almost drove off the WH viaduct looking back torwards UHeights from Fairmount. I agree it sucks becuse it was an awesome set of historical structures with a very productive business that is nationally known.

Dayton: Random Development and News
Is there another Brookville other than the Lake Brookville town. This is kinda got me confused because the Brookville I am thinking of is closer to I-74 than I-70.
