  1. I'd argue that the northern edge of Uptown is hardly the "sprawling edge", respectively. I guess my personal opinion would pit the Sharonville/Evendale area as the "edge" to the north before you get into Exurbia. I see infrastructure improvements (albeit highway) within denser, urban, well established neighborhoods as a good investment. Obviously their are more efficient options out there that we discuss on other threads, but I share in Johio's thoughts. Hopefully this will ultimately help the traffic clog on 71.
  2. My new favorite thread! The 6 ers are some immpressive shots! Wow!
  3. I couldn't agree more!!
  4. Here is a breakdown of all of Indy's casinos along with how many they employ. 12 casinos with roughly an average of about 1,200 people employed per casino http://www.casinoassociation.org/casinofacts.php
  5. Thank you Ohio & Kentucky Lawrenceburg IN Riverfront - 2008 Pop. 4,791 Rising Sun IN Riverfront - 2008 Pop. 2,470
  6. I don't even mind the Banks for a casino. The Banks of Queensgate! :-D
  7. That sign has been up since last April at least! I used to drive by it everyday. The billboard idea is great!!!!!!!!
  8. Still it's fun to talk about and this is a forum. I couldn't agree more! Not meant to criticize, just adding a dose of reality to the discussion. :-D I personally don't know how I feel on the casino plan. It has it's pros, but I don't know what I think of the disconnect it will have on streetlife. I have been liking the pipe dream idea of Coney Island getting the casino. They have more than enough room. I really wouldn't mind seeing BC take more of a City West approach. Stay residential, but maybe go a little bigger. Kinda what 4th st in Cincy is/used to be menus the highrises. I think I took this in Soho, but I personally would like this kind of height. Same size if not slightly bigger than OTR.
  9. Cincy needs to focus on priorities! A new arena is not even close to being on that radar yet. We may be the only ones even talking about this. Unfortunately, USBank isn't going anywhere anytime soon. The ideas on here are great, but I don't see BC waiting around for another decade until there is some pent up demand for a new state of the art arena while we have Cintas, The Shoe, USBank, and a rarely used gorgeous Cincy Gardens in Bond Hill.
  10. Price Hill native leads beautification By Kurt Backscheider • [email protected] • September 23, 2009 http://communitypress.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/C2/20090923/NEWS/909230377/ She said Price Hill has some of the best parks and green spaces in the city, as well as the highest number of residents who recycle. She said she is focusing on action, and she is recruiting volunteers who want to help keep the momentum going and come up with new ideas for continuing to move the neighborhood forward in terms of beauty and ecology.

  12. ^haha, which is the reason I wouldn't put to much stock in that poll on 19. Journalism in this town keeps getting better and better.
  13. I believe their was some sort of bridge that spanned the railyards. You can barely make out some sort of right of way on the 1932 historical aerials shot.
  14. She's the ugliest, most beautiful interstate monstrosity to ever come out of the 60's! (IMO) I've always liked it though.
  15. That would require a Mill Creek cruise in a canoe! Tempting though!
  16. Pit, PAC, Pavilion and a new breed of purple http://communitypress.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/C2/20090918/VAV02/909180343/ For many the ESPN mega media event was more than a game. It was an occasion to celebrate the west side. Perhaps we should reflect and ask, "How did this happen? Or will this new breed in turn inspire us to create a little Wrigleyville with sidewalk cafes and luxury condominiums with rooftop gardens, balconies and more Pavilions from which to watch the game?
  17. Some different angles. My pq isn't any better.

  22. Especially, that inflated housing free market and the lies and scams we've been sold for years. We are only beginning to see what 22 million empty homes nationwide will have on this supposed free market for decades to come considering our population as a nation is starting to plateau.
  23. ^WOW, Yea it is!
