  1. Hydroelectric power attracts interest Hamilton provides cheap electricity now with water By The Associated Press • December 1, 2008 http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20081201/NEWS01/812010377/1168/NEWS HAMILTON - Decades ago, Henry Ford turned to hydroelectric plants to power his car factories like the one by the Great Miami River near Hamilton. That assembly plant is long gone, but the power plant and the technology behind it are not. Far from it. The push to get electricity from moving water is only picking up steam. There is mounting political pressure to get more energy from alternative sources and developers are pushing ambitious projects to exploit America's biggest rivers for power. ...

    ^LOL Oh My!
  10. ^Fat chance of them building closer to the street!! I wish! It COULD start a new trend on Glenway that could resemble some of the more walkable areas of the west side. (ie: Cheviot, Westwood, and Price Hill.) Seems to me Green Twp. requires all new buildings to be offset from the road. (At least ALL development thus far has resembled that UNFORTUNATELY.) This would be A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO REVERSE THAT TREND. On a side note though, this lot is huge when empty. I will try and get some pics at a later date Still just rumors about Red Lobster moving to this locale and Olive garden building where Red Lobster currently is. I wouldn't bet on it in this economy until they start diggin though.
  11. Does anyone know what would happen with the park land IF this never gets built? Can the Twp. sell it or go ahead with creating a park? I think the economy has shut this thing down. The EPA might just be the nail in the proverbial coffin.
  12. OMG! awesome website! This one almost made me cry! 16. State board to ask $1B more for schools The Associated Press • November 17, 2008 http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20081117/NEWS01/311170029 COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The state school board is working on a plan that would boost state aid to Ohio's public schools by an estimated $1 billion a year. State Board of Education leaders also say school districts wouldn't have to rely so much on local tax revenue and wouldn't have to ask voters for tax levies quite so often. Board members aren't saying where the money would come from. After a meeting in December, the State Board of Education is expected to formally recommend its proposal to Gov. Ted Strickland, who has made 2009 his deadline year for offering a fix for the way Ohio pays for public schools.
  17. These incidents involving people that SHOULD NOT EVEN BE BEHIND THE WHEEL are really happening ALOT around the state. My Uncle was in a wreck recently where the driver of the other vehicle lost control on a wet road and crossed the double yellow into the path of my uncle. The other driver was killed instantly, and come to find out he was driving under a suspended license in his girlfreinds UNINSURED car. My uncle owns his own business and has been in a legal fight with his own insurance company over how to recoup the cost incurred to him and his family. So what do you do when your own state laws work against you ALONG with the insurance industry? Push to toughen Ohio suspended license laws http://www.fox19.com/global/story.asp?s=9361557 Posted: Nov 17, 2008 08:21 AM EST Updated: Nov 17, 2008 08:21 AM EST CINCINNATI (AP) - Some judges and prosecutors say it's time to strengthen Ohio's laws governing unlicensed drivers, especially as the number of people driving without a license grows. Almost 12 percent of Ohio drivers are under suspension, or more than one in every 10 drivers, according to a review of state data by The Cincinnati Enquirer. That's up 40 percent since 2000.
