  1. The building is placed at a weird orientation, and while I will agree somewhat that they are keeping to the same building materials,....... The back side of this is just painted cinder block. With it sitting in the middle of the development, I don't think it will look good from any angle. Home Dopot, Tractor Supply, or Bigg's front door. (Don't hold me to it because, this was three weeks ago, and I was leaving BW3's :drunk:) It's going in the center dirt plot surrounded by the Sea O Parking!! http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Harrison+Ohio&ie=UTF8&ll=39.260528,-84.793226&spn=0.002044,0.00383&t=h&z=18
  2. Staples commits to Harrison Staples, the office supply chain, has signed a lease to anchor the developing New Havens Commons, becoming the first retailer to commit to the Harrison retail project. The 14,600-square-foot store is expected to open in early 2009, said Lisa Specht, a spokeswoman for Midland Atlantic Development, which owns the project. Midland is seeking smaller tenants to fill the remaining space at the 20,000-square-foot project. Read full article here: http://cincinnati.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/stories/2008/10/20/daily17.html

  4. EPA Faulted On Waterway Pollution From Sprawl Web Produced By: Neil Relyea Email: [email protected] Last Update: 10/16 5:21 am http://www.wcpo.com/content/news/localshows/living_green_two/story.aspx?content_id=2a3dfc98-43a0-4be1-a142-89b846a70d81 WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Environmental Protection Agency is failing to stem the pollution washing into waterways from cities and suburbs, the National Academy of Sciences reported Wednesday. The report's authors urged "radical changes" in how the federal government regulates stormwater runoff so that all waters are clean enough for fishing and swimming. "The take-home message is the program as it has been implemented in the last 18 to 20 years has largely been a failure," said Xavier Swamikannu, one of the authors and the head of Los Angeles' stormwater program for the California Environmental Protection Agency.
  5. New Banks investor steps forward By Keith T. Reed • [email protected] • October 21, 2008 The Atlanta developers behind The Banks, the planned $1 billion Cincinnati waterfront project, disclosed today that another firm has made a substantial investment in the project. That's awesome! Don't forget to check out Westwood too! There is alot of sweet architecture on Harrison Ave. I REALLY RECOMMEND getting off of the major arteries to discover the true uniqueness of some of the most WALKABLE residential neighborhoods in the city. (Applies to both Cheviot and Westwood.) For those who have never been over here, these two business districts essentially merge together to form one 2-3 mile continuous stretch of mostly small businesses with some of the cheapest rent around. And IT IS SAFE TO WALK AROUND!!! Some Westwood shots from last month. http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,17258.0.html

  16. I really don't see a need to remodel either! It's not the best but it sure doesn't look dated! I tend to agree and think management might be the problem and their lack of innovation.
