^Very True. It is a shame to see that school go. You know it's replacement will not have nearly as much character as that one.

Cincinnati: Westwood: Western Hills Plaza redevelopment
I will try to get up there this week. They have been working on the new sewer lines throughout the property and re-EAFing the existing EAFS. ( I am pretty disappointed by this.) I doubt there will be any more brick (if any) used similar to across the street. The Target work looks to be still pretty early in the process. (Site work with footers going in soon). They have two giant signs at both entrances showing a rendering of the new Target. I can't find it online anywhere though. It's definitely going to be a couple notches up from what it once was but this final product isn't going to come close to the VOA Centre you talk of. Dunkin Doughnuts is finished on the opposite corner and looks much better than the empty service station that had been there for 15 years. plus or menus the Giant Bob Marley Rug vendor that inhabited the parking lot.

Amtrak & Federal: Passenger Rail News
Sometimes I feel that if we have to wait on the politicians in this country, then we might as well start dreaming of the flying car. They NEED to get on the ball with this and as a past hard core republican, I can tell you that if none of these clowns see the urgency for rail RIGHT NOW, well then I won't find the urgency to give them my vote come Nov. :shoot:

Cincinnati: Population Trends
Actually, I don't know. I was just thinking about that. I guess they would be by themselves. But some of these streets run pretty close if not through Westwood.

Cincinnati: Population Trends
probably not, but the older the city's housing stock, the more they would benefit. Exactly, It may be a stretch and I know that things happening this month will not count, but I have noticed an influx of new residents on my street alone. Houses that have been up for sale and or foreclosures (ALOT sitting vacant for years) are now full and sold. The most rescent sale nextdoor to me came from Indiana this past weekend. I have counted over 10-12 properties with people moving into what used to be vacant housing in the Cheviot area near St. Martins, Harding, Applegate, and Darwin. Affordability, walkability, and that almighty safety factor will be KEY.
