The amount of investment that has taken place in downtown Newark has been remarkable to witness.- Newark: Developments and News

OhioFinest replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & Construction“”””Downtown Newark is thriving,” Trautman said. “We see the transformation that is taking place, and we are committed to doing our part as a good neighbor and partner. As a member of the downtown community for more than 100 years, we consider it a privilege to help build a strong future for all residents while remembering and respecting our past.””” “”””We believe retaining the property allows more flexibility for future growth and enhancements,” Hamilton said. “Park has grown significantly over many decades and continues to grow, bringing jobs and investment to Newark. In the meantime, adding greenspace demonstrates our commitment to a beautiful downtown.”””” These two specific parts from the article are what make me think…something has to be planned for this property!!! Seems like there is some foreshadowing going on with these comments. Right? I’ve always heard rumors that Park wanted to build another tower across from their N 3rd Tower. Something just seems too secretive about this.- Newark: Developments and News

OhioFinest replied to ColDayMan's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionWhat are the plans for the Coliseum? The OHSAA Commissioner Doug Ute has said that they plan on returning the Central District basketball tournament to The Barn by next season. The only problem with that is the condition of the facility is in no shape to host it. It needs MAJOR work...i know there are planned renovations of the Coliseum, so are there plans or renderings released yet?- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
700 mill....and its still open air...not just no...but HELL NO!!! This is why he is moving the team to Brook Park. This is about building a dome...plain and simple.- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
At this point, i am fully expecting to read an article about the Browns relocating outside of Ohio completely...again!! What a cluster this is turning into...- Newark: Developments and News
OhioFinest replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & Constructionhttps://www.newarkadvocate.com/story/news/local/granville/2024/04/21/granville-schools-enrollment-not-growing-as-fast-as-once-feared/73331497007/ Ahhhh yes…and this is directly because of Granville’s stalling efforts regarding Newark and Heath’s growth. So, can Granville please stop with all the hysterical student enrollment concerns and allow Newark and Heath to do what’s best for their communities??- Gahanna: Developments and News
Ahhhhhh...So at the expense of offending people...they drastically hurt the kids instead, because attending Gahanna in this form, it hurts their opportunity to participate in extra curricular activities...BIG TIME!! Makes total sense...don't worry about the kids being impacted...worry about the offended parents isntead. Got it. edit...i've been to GLHS a million times and i can say this with certainty...it needs split. Period!- Gahanna: Developments and News
That is going to be one MASSIVE high school!! Why didn't Gahanna ever consider splitting into two schools? Gahanna Lincoln and Gahanna Jefferson just seems too easy to do. There is not a lot of opportunity for kids to actually make a team, play and be active in sports at Gahanna. Very limited opportunity!!- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
For cryin out loud Cleveland…this is going to turn into a dam circus!- Dublin: Bridge Park / Bridge Street District Developments and News
OhioFinest replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionSorry if somebody already answered this...but what is the status of the Dublin Fieldhouse??? I know this may not seem like a huge need for some, but Central Ohio needs a high school venue of this size...DESPERATELY!!! The Central District OHSAA tournament is a joke. I sure hope this wasn't scrapped?- Newark: Developments and News
OhioFinest replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionSuch a shame. Sounds like the historic "The Avalon Building" could be demolished after it caught fire last weekend. As stated in the article, hopefully they can get something designed and rebuilt at this location...would be cool to even see some height with a new building. https://www.newarkadvocate.com/story/news/local/2024/03/29/newarks-avalon-building-in-danger-of-demolition-like-25-years-ago/73121218007/- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
You know what i see when i see this picture...i can see a time in Cleveland when this Brook Park location is where multiple Stadiums in Cleveland are eventually located. Think Arlington and Inglewood. People might not be thinking long term enough. When the Guardians lease with the city of Cleveland is up in 2036...i can absolutely see enough room for a new ball park right here as well. Then...that Stadium Village/Mixed-use entertainment district will have plenty of people frequenting it all year long if that were to happen. We all know the situation with Progressive Field and its constant need for upgrades. 2036 will be here in the blink of an eye and MLB expansion is all the talk. This gives the franchise a much needed piece of real estate for a new stadium. Just thinking out loud...- New Albany: Ohio One (Intel Semiconductor Facility)
OhioFinest replied to cbussoccer's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI pray this is not a "where there's smoke, there's fire" type of situation. Seems like all we get is more and more and more delays from this. From 25' to 28' is significant delays.- Ohio Non-Commercial Airports
https://www.newarkadvocate.com/story/news/local/2024/03/14/newark-heath-airport-builds-5m-terminal-to-handle-demand-intel/72937131007/ The new Newark-Heath Airport Terminal is set to open. This was built for the anticipated growth coming from the Intel development. The site currently has 79 planes in hangars with an additional 67 on a waiting list. That essentially doubles what is on site...that would be a significant development!!- New Albany: Ohio One (Intel Semiconductor Facility)
OhioFinest replied to cbussoccer's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionHearing rumors of Intel backing out of building the Columbus facility?? Please tell me these aren't factual?- Newark: Developments and News
OhioFinest replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI have NEVER heard that....ever!! I cant image Granville ever allowing such a thing. Is there any proof of this...i would love to know.- Newark: Developments and News
OhioFinest replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & Constructionhttps://www.newarkadvocate.com/story/news/local/granville/2024/03/07/granville-township-proposes-zoning-district-to-shape-future-growth/72842628007/ This doesn't sound like Granville Township is preparing for growth...AT ALL!!! In fact, quite the opposite. Everything i read in this article makes growth MORE difficult...not easier. Tougher regulations all around...we have to make sure that Granville Township doesn't loose any of it's "charm" now do we...removing language in overlay areas that could provide REAL jobs for the area...just an overall negative negative community for any kind of growth. The area specifically controlling Raccoon Golf Course (Overlay subarea B & C)...are you kidding me??? That golf course is essentially dead and is prime for residential development...nope...Granville Township said no to that. Only Golf, Country Clubs, Agritourism (whatever that is) and commercial recreational facilities. I mean...wow. That area should 100% be zoned for residential!! Every time i read one of these articles, we have to hear about how Granville is preparing for growth and how the new people on the board are more "pro growth"...well not according to their actual planning. I just don't see it. Just because you're making a plan for future growth, doesn't mean that plan is actually pro growth. Just Granville being Granville.... Quotes from the article: "The Granville Township Zoning Commission held a hearing Monday night about the township's proposed overlay zoning district, which would create stricter zoning regulations than the regular zoning code within defined areas of the township." "The draft language also includes stricter setbacks and buffering requirements for properties within the overlay." "But the handful of residents who spoke during the meeting didn't support the overlay. Luke Freshwater, who lives on Silver Street, said his family recently moved to the area. As a father of five young children, he wants to raise his kids to love and appreciate rural communities and it's disappointing that farms near him could become developed into businesses." ^^^^^ This last quote is the most ridiculous. My family is allowed to move here, but we don't want anybody else to move here...talk about hypocritical.- Newark: Developments and News
OhioFinest replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionGranville Village is right around 6k people...5,946 according to the last Census in 2020. Granville Township is listed as 10,244 people. Which has always been weird to me, because in Ohio, isn't "City" status anything over 5,000 residents?- Newark: Developments and News
OhioFinest replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & Construction...and this is all tied to Intel development planning!! But i ask again, HOW does Granville not have a comprehensive plan put together for economic/residential growth? I keep coming back to the River Road corridor and the delayed development there...the city of Newark has bent over backwards not just once, but MULTIPLE times, to Granville's requests for delaying development so they could "plan"...well stories like this prove that Granville doesn't have ANY intention of actually planning for any kind of growth and only has a delay block delay block delay plan. Newark City Council should immediately approve those developments and let the chips fall where they may. The city of Newark needs that tax revenue. Its time for Granville to NOT get what they want for a change and for Newark to do what's best for Newark.- Newark: Developments and News

Now Granville wants to act like they are trying to prepare for Intel development?? For a community that claims it's so prepared and smart, it sure seems like the opposite...they don't have their stuff together...at all!!!!- Newark: Developments and News

This one was not on my radar. Seems as if Newark is being very proactive with regards to housing lately. This site sits on the booming west end on a very topographic piece of land. Will be interesting to see how these get built. The article touches on the housing boom being seen everywhere in Newark. Very proud of my city!! - Newark: Developments and News
