Here are some pictures from the city of Newark and the finished Downtown Newark Revitalization Project. There has been significant investment in Downtown Newark over the last 3-4 years. The city spent millions of dollars upgrading sewer, street, sidewalk, landscaping and renovations of property on the historic square. Needless to say, Newark is growing and experiencing a restaurant and entertainment boom it has never seen before. Thanks for visiting this page!! 4. I have a question. In the "Gallery" tab at the top of the page, how does one change the pictures that are posted for the city of Newark? Those pictures are really dated and don't give Newark the proper representation it deserves. I would gladly edit them and post newer and more up to date photos of Newark. Thanks!!!
  5. This is true. Also, something that is starting to happen is this. With Columbus growing so fast and the national trend being that people are looking for "older" houses with "character" in places like VV, GV and OTE etc, those areas are becoming harder and harder to find and much more expensive. Places like Newark are now becoming an option. A house that you would find in VV or OTE for $400,000 are selling for Newark for $150,000. In my neighborhood in Newark, i have met 3 different couples (2 from Westerville and 1 from New Albany) who all work in the NE side of the Columbus metro. Realtors are now suggesting that instead of moving 20 mins downtown, moving 20 mins the other way to Newark could be a better solution, and that's exactly what they found. Newark has the older houses with character they are looking for and at half the price. This is the very reason all 3 couples made the move to Newark. They are all very cool people. What i really like, is now that they have all lived here for around a year or two, all of them agree that Newark wasn't even close to what they thought it was going to be...in a good way!! Newark/Heath/Granville metro is close to 80,000 people and has 3 of everything and i think people are going to starting to realize that its honestly not that bad. Not too big, not too small. Lastly, Newark's growth, in my personal opinion can be attributed to this. For every 500 people that move to Columbus, there are 25 people saying Columbus is getting too big and are looking to move just a bit away from the city. Newark/Heath/Granville is benefitting from that more than people think. Anyway, thanks for all the warm welcomes. I have been looking for a place like this to be voice of positivity for the greater Newark area.
  6. I have to admit, this just might turn out better than i thought it would. It looks pretty cool thus far and brings some much needed height variety to that particular area.
  7. Dankhouse…..is a must go!! One of the fastest growing breweries in not only Ohio, but in the country. Its not exactly 'downtown", but like a 2 min drive away. Its on the Newark bar crawl route lol. I believe they just signed on to be inside Nationwide Arena for next CBJ season. Married couple that are Newark grads, really cool people. They just started an expansion of their current facility that will add a MASSIVE outdoor patio. In fact, they do class reunions all the time because they have such a HUGE outdoor patio and concert stage. Its been a really cool thing to witness this little urban oasis starting to emerge over here. I would actually inquire them about having an after party set up. Its a really cool vibe.... https://dankhousebrewing.com/home https://www.forbes.com/sites/kennygould/2019/07/29/this-family-friendly-brewery-in-newark-ohio-is-breaking-down-stigma-around-cannabis/#61c2f5e41c28 ^^^ They have already been in Forbes Magazine and NYTimes as well. Have to try their house beer "Super Fantastic" They took this old abandoned building, and turned into their brewery. Before renovation... After renovation... This is the current back patio....this will be about 3x as big when its all said and done after renovations.
