Last thing about Downtown Newark, there has been some big time local philanthropists that have been buying up a bunch of land and old buildings for sale in downtown Newark. The best is yet to come. Below is the link to Northpoint Ohio Architecture (a local firm) and you can see what's being designed for upcoming projects. With the widening of 161, Newark only sits an 18 min drive to New Albany and only a 25 min drive to Columbus. That highway expansion made it possible for Newark to grow. People around the city can now work in Columbus if they desire without having to physically move. Its honestly a great time for the city. Its for sure going through a renaissance of sorts. Oh man would it ever be awesome!! I know me and my friends have talked about that for years. One way to Columbus/Indy/Chicago or the other way to Pittsburgh. But hey, that makes too much sense lol. The beauty of it is the Downtown Train Station in Newark has also been redone. Its a beautiful building that was preserved.

Lastly, Newark has also seen a great revitalization of downtown living. Many long empty 2nd, 3rd and even 4th story units are being converted into lofts and condos which is AWESOME to see. Newark has that big city living element that not a lot of other central Ohio cities have. I think Newark will stay just ahead of Dublin. Newark has had an uptick in growth on the North and West ends that are keeping Newark just ahead of Dublin. This will be the last census that Newark stays ahead of Dublin however, as Dublin is just growing at much faster %.

After the Revitalization project finished....many new restaurants and bars were opened bringing a new a vibrant nightlife to Downtown Newark that hasn't been seen in quite a long time. Brand new here....live in Newark. This city has gone through some amazing changes the last 5 years. Its been truly amazing to witness....with many more on the horizon as well. Population growth has been steady as well. I think Newark's growth is as vital to Central Ohio as any community, being the 2nd largest city in the region.
