Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
Good for Cleveland State and the city of Cleveland. As a Central Ohioan, i must say i have never actually been to CSU, but from everything i have seen and read over the last few pages, this seems to be a great plan. I am not one of these posters on here who roots for a certain region of the state...i am pro Ohio...always!! I am a diehard Cleveland sports fan and i root for the city at every chance. A plan like this only helps the city of Cleveland and the university improve. Cleveland is at a major point in its history IMO. With a plan like this for Cleveland State, plus a possible new location for a retractable roof stadium for the Browns, plus a true lakefront plan that could follow that combining where the current stadium is and a possible future Burke Lakefront redevelopment plan...it seems like a perfectly timed proposal of massive implications that could transform the city for the future. I truly hope they all get done!

New Albany: Ohio One (Intel Semiconductor Facility)
OhioFinest replied to cbussoccer's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI could be wrong, but i think this is what they might have meant by Thornwood Corridor??? This has been in the process for at least 5 years. The first phase of the "Thornwood Corridor" was completed with the brand new interchange at "Thornwood Crossing". Phase II is being fast tracked due to infrastructure issues. Phase III is the widening of Thornwood Dr. Once complete, it will connect SR 16 to 79/70 and opening up thousands or acres of undeveloped land for development. Phase I was building the brand-new Thornwood Crossing interchange here: Phase II is clearing trees and building a new bridge over Raccoon Creek, connecting Thornwood Crossing to Thornwood Dr. That phase is currently underway. Phase III is widening Thornwood Dr from 2 lanes to 4 lanes wide, all the way to SR79. The plan is to open up thousands of acres of land for future development. I know that the Port Authority is already planning a large brand-new Business/Industrial Park off of Thornwood Dr.

Newark: Developments and News
OhioFinest replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & Constructionhttps://www.newarkadvocate.com/story/news/2022/11/11/sheetz-gas-ultimate-shine-car-wash-coming-to-heath/69634339007/ Sheetz and Ultimate Shine Car Wash have announced they are coming to Heath. The locations will be right off of 79. Sheetz will demolish two current sites and redevelop that lot, while Ultimate Shine will build on the site of the former Motel that was torn down a few years ago (Finally!). I am actually shocked this is where Sheetz decided to build. I thought for sure it would be on the site of the former Stacey's Buffet. Still, nice to see two vacant sites being redeveloped. (Yellow = Sheetz) (Orange = Utimate Shine Car Wash) Sheetz will demolish and redevelop both of these sites. Ultimate Shine Car Wash will build here...

Newark: Developments and News
OhioFinest replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionConstruction on another new housing development has broken ground off of King Rd in Newark, in the NW part of the city. This piece of land is absolutely beautiful and will have plenty of demand. This is the 5th active housing development currently under construction in the city of Newark. The growth and progress of Newark is incredible!! I believe this will be called "Deer Run Village"...don't quote me on that though... I have always thought this was one of the best pieces of land for development. I also believe this will be just the 1st phase of a MUCH larger development that will eventually extend westward into the hills and into Granville. This will be across the street and just to the west of Fox Run Condominiums

Newark: Developments and News
OhioFinest replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionIt has been very interesting to say the least. No part of the building had any kind of sprinkler system in it. But i will say this...the floors and ceilings were built like Fort Knox, so it gives them a blank slate so to speak. They hope to open early 24' from the reporting...so about a year of construction.

OhioFinest replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & Constructionhttps://www.10tv.com/article/news/local/historic-newark-building-come-back-life/530-7ce63c84-19a3-41c0-88d2-a8e235789469 This is going to be absolutely game changing for Downtown Newark. With everything that has already been renovated and redeveloped, this will be something that sets Newark apart. Cant wait to see the finished product. Lastly, what an absolute trash depiction of Newark by 10tv...exactly the kind of elitist mentality we have been subjected to our whole lives. You'd think 10tv would have taken some actual footage of the actual entrances to the Arcade...not some side alley view. This is the before of the inside of the Arcade. It has a very "Short North" vibe to it with the Arches... THIS....is the actual current entrance This is what the after renderings look like...

Newark: Developments and News
OhioFinest replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionConstruction has begun on another new housing division in the west end of the city off of Cherry Valley Rd. This housing division will be unique in that it is an INCREDIBLE piece of land with rolling hills. This housing division will be a GREAT addition to the city of Newark. Love the topography of this site. On the map, the red arrow is where the pic is taken from, to give you a better idea of the orientation of the site.

Columbus: Affordable Housing Developments and News
OhioFinest replied to JohnOSU99's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionYes...there is a bunch of work that has been going on the last 3-4 years with renovating available apt/housing downtown. There were plans for a major development off of 4th street, 3rd street and south of W Main St. I think they are waiting on the utility and street project to finish up...which should be almost complete. I would love to see some height get built...maybe 5-10 stories...would be a game changer for Newark!! These were the plans...

Newark: Developments and News
OhioFinest replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionNow this is something completely out of left field!!! The Port Authority recently purchased the old Coughlin/Chesrown site on the North end of the city. This is far away from where they typically do business...completely out of their footprint. Anybody know about what the PA is doing with this site??? Could be something big as this piece of property is much bigger than one would think. This is the property on the North end.

Columbus: Affordable Housing Developments and News
OhioFinest replied to JohnOSU99's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionIsn't this a good thing for Columbus then? We just learned that the city of Columbus wants to increase downtown population by at least 40k, so it seems as if there is a market for multifamily and affordable housing downtown in the meantime. I thought we wanted more density and less sprawl?

Hocking County / Hocking Hills State Park: Developments and News
Look at that view!!! I can't imagine how incredible that is this time of year. Again, my only wish is that they would have built this much much bigger. Again, hopefully there are planned expansions over time. This place could really be a spark for that part of the state!! Look at that view!!!

Hocking County / Hocking Hills State Park: Developments and News
I have been saying it forever...Ohio should be investing heavily into Southeastern Ohio's state parks and natural beauty and also on Lake Erie's lakefront. Two incredible natural resources we have in Ohio and do absolutely nothing with. I think i read where this lodge was the first new structure of its kind on a state park in Ohio in over 30 years?!?!?!? Anyway, this looks absolutely incredible and will instantly become THE wedding destination of the fall season in Ohio lol. I only hope that with the amount available space around it, that with financial success, there are future expansion phases planned. This place could become a huge huge benefit to Southeastern Ohio and make it a true Fall destination. Build this thing into an icon for Ohio. Awesome stuff!!

Newark: Developments and News
OhioFinest replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI would bet almost anything that the Thornwood Crossing Bridge and Round-A-Bout will be pushed up immediately. It was scheduled to begin in early 23'...so this would be just a few months early. This is taken right off of the City of Newark official website. The yellow X is the bridge location that is closed forever.

Newark: Developments and News
OhioFinest replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionLet’s hope!! Listen, I’m all for youth sports and fully support kids being active, but that land is PRIME real estate and should be treated as such. Simply put, a big soccer complex in the heart of the city is a waste of valuable land. Let’s hope there is a much better plan for that prime piece of land!

New Albany: Ohio One (Intel Semiconductor Facility)
OhioFinest replied to cbussoccer's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionNewark as well! Newark is the only one that actually has houses being built, dirt being moved for other subdivisions and also has an additional 4-5 in the works. Its exciting times in the Greater Newark area for sure!!

Newark: Developments and News
OhioFinest replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionOhhhh got ya...interesting you bring that up...speaking for the Newark part, i know that the Newark Planning Commission just approved the revised plan for the Log Pond Plaza apartment complex to be built. It is now moving forward. Is this what you were referring to?

Newark: Developments and News
OhioFinest replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI think you a referring to this... As far as i know, this is all still planned. The first phase of the Central Parkway extension was just completed. The portion on the left/west side of the map was completed with the building of the new Owens Corning facility. The portion on Thornwood Dr. This is a HUGE piece of land that i am sure is gaining a lot of interests. As you can see in the yellow highlighted area, the far west end of the Central Parkway Extension is complete.

Newark: Developments and News
OhioFinest replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionFrom everything i have heard and seen...the numbers and participation for the volleyball courts through the first phase of development has been a major success. So as of now, the plan seems to be doing very well. Adding a few hundred people right next door and eventually on the Newark Station property itself....could really kick start all the planned development like you mentioned. A healthy and growing Exurb like Newark isn't just good for Newark, its good for Columbus and all of Central Ohio.
