Grandview Heights: Grandview Yard
amped91 replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThere’s a fenced off portion with equipment on site between the two OSUWMC office buildings on Olentangy River Rd. At first I thought it might be a staging area for the above, but now after looking at this map and that site again, idk if that would make sense from a logistics standpoint. Anyone hear anything?

Get ready for a COhatch near you! CEO announces plans to open a co-working location in every Central Ohio suburb and neighborhood over the course of the next five years. In addition, he wants to eventually have one in every small town in Ohio. COhatch CEO announces ambitious vision for company's future “In a LinkedIn post, COhatch CEO Matt said he wants to connect every Central Ohio neighborhood and suburb — Hilliard, Marysville, Plain City, Franklinton, Powell, New Albany, Grandview, Clintonville, Bexley, Granville, Pataskala, Reynoldsburg, Whitehall, Olde Towne East, German Village, Grove City, Canal Winchester, Pickerington and more — via his company's shared workspaces. “The ones in Central Ohio, we have on our development plan currently, we’re working with several of those cities now to find locations and buildings. Our goal is to build a couple per year for the next five years to finish them out,” Davis told Columbus Business First. The company currently has locations in Delaware, Upper Arlington, the OSU Gateway area, Worthington, Easton and Polaris, with construction underway in Dublin and Westerville, according to its website.” https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2021/09/10/cohatch-ceo-announces-vision-for-the-future.html?utm_source=st&utm_medium=en&utm_campaign=bn&utm_content=co&ana=e_co_bn&j=25007158&senddate=2021-09-10

Columbus: Downtown: Harmony Tower
Went back and looked at the announcement; looks like you’re right. I guess there’s another, smaller connector building that’s supposed to be office and retail. The tower is supposed to be half hotel and half apartments. Maybe it’ll end up being like the North Market, and it’ll grow a few stories every couple of years 😂

Columbus: Downtown: Harmony Tower
I’m still holding out hope for the project. It’s only been a little over a year, and there could be behind the scenes work going on. Plus, I’m sure it’s taking a bit longer right now to attract anchor tenants as well. Would definitely be a good time to increase the planned amount of apartments and decrease the office square footage, though.

Damnit, you got me all excited, seeing a new post and hoping we had an update! 😂

Columbus: Downtown: The Assembly (Former Kroger Bakery)
Project made it through Development Commission, now it’s moving on to City Council. It gained some height but lost about 100 units. Also, it’s puzzling they plan to add a lot more office space than originally proposed. Unless the plan is to use office space as a buffer between Abbot and the residential portion. Kroger Bakery project advancing to city council for final approval “Revised plans presented Thursday include about 100 fewer apartments in the development, 364 units instead of 448. Plans propose that Building A will be 58 feet tall instead of 51 and the other two apartment buildings would both be shorter than originally proposed. The exterior of the two historic buildings will not change. New plans propose 8,850 square feet of restaurant space, the same amount as the old plans. The new plans include much more office space, 49,000 square feet, where the old plans proposed 2,400 square feet.” https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2021/09/09/kroger-bakery.html?utm_source=st&utm_medium=en&utm_campaign=bn&utm_content=co&ana=e_co_bn&j=25000643&senddate=2021-09-09

Columbus: Brewery District Developments and News
I give it by the end of the year we hear a new proposal. Between a dev here and a dev at the Copious site, we could see some decent amount of housing/density coming to this side of High!

amped91 replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionYes. Columbus Brewing is going to have a beer garden, and Local Cantina will have a spot, which I imagine will also sell liquor. My understanding is the openings of both of those businesses won’t be until early next year, however. The article mentions they’re also booking events for the end of the year, so they must (hopefully?) be pretty confident they’ll actually, truly open in December. I’d love to celebrate some winter holidays over there!

Columbus: Random Development and News
amped91 replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionMy apologies if this isn’t the best location for this news; but a couple different housing projects proposed near Reynoldsburg on the southeast side: Pair of proposals would bring homes, townhomes at lower price points to southeast Columbus “Tuscan Group Ltd. is planning a 40-home subdivision on Forest Green Court near Glenbrook. Pittsburgh-based Maronda Homes, meanwhile, hopes to bring townhomes and single-family homes to Village Channel Drive. Both sites are on the southeast side of Columbus. The Forest Green Court site is currently vacant and sits next to Easthaven Park. Todd Lipschutz, Columbus division president for Maronda Homes, said the 200 townhomes his firm hopes to build will be priced in the low $200,000 range. There will be a pool for the community, a clubhouse with some workout equipment and a large lake. The homebuilder will also build about 30 single-family homes in the development priced in the mid-$200,000s. as applied to change the zoning.“ https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2021/09/08/forest-green-ct-housing.html?utm_source=st&utm_medium=en&utm_campaign=ae&utm_content=co&ana=e_co_ae&j=24986685&senddate=2021-09-08

Columbus: Franklin Park / Trolley District Developments and News
amped91 replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI knew there was no way this would be ready in August. I hope this is the last delay, and that they don’t have to push back the apartments start day as well.

amped91 replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionIt’s been a hole for at least a couple months now…has anyone heard anything about it? If it’s supply and/or labor issues, I can understand, but it’s a aggravating they can just leave a big hole sitting in the middle of the city for months on end.

Columbus: Random Development and News
amped91 replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & Construction^I’d noticed earlier this summer a sign had gone up saying “redevelopment coming soon.” I love the little plaza included in these renderings, and think this would be a great spot for a brewery and tap room or other kind of hang out spot.

Probably. Sounds like they’re doing their best to off-set that, but NIMBYs gonna NIMBY 🤷🏼♂️

Columbus: Brewery District Developments and News
More details on the development of the old Copious building, which is being presented today: Schiff Capital Group plans $25M, 7-story mixed-use building near German Village “There will be two townhomes fronting on Pearl Street, which is the boundary between the Brewery District and German Village. Schiff said the townhomes were designed with the German Village neighborhood in mind, with much of the building's height and mass set back from Pearl Street. The townhomes will break up the building's mass and view from those living in that neighborhood across the street. There will be 68 parking spaces in the parking garage that starts one level below grade.” I believe all of the above details are new. The hope is to break ground next spring. Also mentioned is their Livingston Ave mixed-use, on the site of the former dinner theatre. Sounds like it’s still moving through the approval process.

Columbus: Weinland Park Developments and News
Sounds like the Aubrey is about to open. The article mentions they’re already about 1/3 rented out. This project brings online 109 of the several hundred units that are currently under construction in this area. Wilcox to open Weinland Park mixed-use project “The rapidly expanding Fifth Avenue development corridor in Weinland Park near Italian Village will officially add its latest mixed-use project Thursday. Located at 114 E. Fifth Ave on the corner of Summit Street, The Aubrey, a five-story development from Wilcox Communities, will offer 109 one and two-bedroom luxury apartments, according to a news release.” There’s also 2000sf of retail available, that has yet to be leased. https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2021/09/02/wilcox-aubrey-grand-opening-fifth-avenue.html?ana=TRUEANTHEMFB_CO&csrc=6398&utm_campaign=trueAnthem%3A+Trending+Content&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwAR0TzZV8HhVLWMoHTZFx9oyNnzDLQP8qFZv3vIep52tgjbJglbaKANWYfQw

I feel like we would’ve heard at least something by now…but who knows. I’ll be pretty happy if we can just get this and Harmony built this decade lol

Excellent news! I think the renderings look great. This is a project I’ve been excited about for a long time, and I’m glad it’s getting even better. I just hope they actually start building it next year.

Columbus: Harrison West / Dennison Place Developments and News
amped91 replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionApparently the Hyatt House opened about a month ago?? CBF has a little write up and some pictures. Sounds like a pretty neat place to stay! “Located off the Olentangy Trail, the hotel features a gym full of equipment made by Columbus-based Rogue Fitness. Some guest rooms also feature private Peloton bikes, and there are bike rentals available to take advantage of the proximity to the trail. The hotel also has a full-service bar, called H Bar, featuring local spirits and beers. There also is an outdoor fire pit, bocce ball court, an indoor pool and a dog courtyard.” https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2021/08/31/new-hyatt-house-opens-harrison-west.html?utm_source=st&utm_medium=en&utm_campaign=me&utm_content=co&ana=e_co_me&j=24904506&senddate=2021-08-31

Columbus: Downtown: Arena District Developments and News
amped91 replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionHopefully it means the North Market tower is officially a “go” next year too 😬 I’m also excited to see what NRI has planned for the piece of land a bit closer to the Dot, which had been brought up in an article around the time of the opening game at the new stadium.

amped91 replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & Construction@Pablo looks like you may have been right about the utility work. Sounds like the Chipotle apartments from NRI have hit a delay due to utility lines… As Chipotle office building wraps up in Arena District, apartment building next door is delayed “ The 150-unit apartment building has not broken ground yet because utility lines must be relocated, said Brian Ellis, president and chief operating officer of NRI. The developer currently is working with the city but doesn't have a definite completion date. Once NRI can start construction, the apartment building will take about 15 months to build out. "We're anxious to get the apartment building going," Ellis said. "The apartments we have in Arena District are all full, so we're happy to get more built." The apartment building's pool will be visible along Vine Street, he said.” https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2021/08/31/chipotle-building.html?utm_source=st&utm_medium=en&utm_campaign=me&utm_content=co&ana=e_co_me&j=24904506&senddate=2021-08-31

Columbus: Near East Side / King-Lincoln / Olde Towne East Developments and News
amped91 replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionAlso mentioned in the article is a new duplex near Shiloh and the redevelopment of the Ohio General Baptist Convention’s site near OTE into 36 affordable apartment units. The latter I had seen ongoing construction throughout the summer, but this is my first time hearing about the units being built there.
