  1. An update on the market from Business First: Thrive Cos. readies to start construction on The Collective Market at Grandview Crossing “Thrive Cos. is set to begin construction next month on a community market at its Grandview Crossing development. The Collective Market will feature 10-12 food vendors and a “large bar,” Thrive CFO Joel Lillysaid. No tenants have been signed yet, but Lilly said the firm has had conversations with food vendors from both the North Market and its Bridge Park outpost, although this market is not affiliated with either.” The article also mentioned the next phase of apts is set to begin construction in the coming weeks. https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2021/08/03/grandview-crossing-construction-collective-market.html?ana=e_colum_bn_editorschoice_editorschoice&j=90567114&t=Breaking News&mkt_tok=NjczLVVXWS0yMjkAAAF-rKJT4WOzK5AJwGU2EOxMdwdZR1-y9pPM6-FiycB0g5JMnfiZZd9wakiNyOwJuVnC6tvXtfzqh44irsv-tp2PdaMA71UqQz189mRjfQVyPXoI4wyBhmI
  2. Make that one more reason to loathe those sewer dwellers. 🤬
  3. I agree. Whatever it is, it needs to be something that gets national attention and attracts tourists from all over the state/country, just like COSI.
  4. First I’m hearing about this, did something happen before? Does it have to do with the zoo expansion?
  5. ^I was hoping to see the Ohio Historical Connection move their exhibits over there, or at least set up a satellite location on the Peninsula, especially with their current location being so out of the way of anything else. I’d love to see the tip of the Peninsula become a little museum/education district.
  6. That’s gotta be what it is, then. I think I was conflating that with the proton therapy center that will be housed in the Outpatient Center.
  7. Is that the building going up further west on Lane, next to Carmack? It’s been hard finding information on that one.
  8. Dispatch: COTA board approves purchase of Greyhound station Downtown for nearly $9.5 million “Pinkerton said COTA will talk with the city, the Columbus Downtown Development Corporation and the Federal Transit Administration before demolishing the Greyhound station, which dates to 1969. Terry Foegler, COTA's chief development officer, said officials want the redevelopment to make a significant impact on the surrounding Downtown area.” https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/2021/07/28/greyhound-station-demolished-make-way-cota-development/8091987002/?fbclid=IwAR1Q82Cly3xZMxIuxJqb9kJoJwMc_s7B9RtpRHUI8A5urkdeJKyNOSCrPlk
  9. Looks like they finished up the lettering yesterday. I love how the Columbus side looks from 315!
  10. Do we know if this is planned for residential/office/mix yet?
  11. Business First: Schumacher Place Giant Eagle redevelopment plan lands final approval “”’We need to face the reality that Columbus is a growing city. We have a housing shortage and within the next nine years we are projected to surpass a million people within the city of Columbus," Riewald said. "The question is really, where are these people going to live? It's critical for the success of our city to make sure we are putting forward quality, dense urban infill along transit quarters adjacent to transit job centers.’” https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2021/07/26/german-village-giant-eagle.html?utm_source=st&utm_medium=en&utm_campaign=bn&utm_content=co&ana=e_co_bn&j=24563590&senddate=2021-07-26 I like Rob’s comments mentioned at the end of the article too 😂
  12. So glad this is still on the table. I think it would be great for S. High, especially with the new High St bridge in a few years better connecting the BD with the CBD.
  13. That’s the one! I haven’t heard any news about it, so I was just wondering.
  14. Golden Bear Shopping Center redevelopment to move forward, demolition set for January 2022 “Plans for the $56 million redevelopment hit an impasse last summer when Arcadia wanted to cut some of the proposed office space for 23 residential condos, but in February the developer and the city agreed the project would move forward with the originally proposed 20,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, 24,000 square feet of second-floor office space and 79 condominiums. Arcadia Development is also involved in the $100 million Arlington Gateway development on Lane Avenue.” https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2021/07/26/golden-bear-center-redevelopment-moves-forward.html?utm_source=st&utm_medium=en&utm_campaign=bn&utm_content=co&ana=e_co_bn&j=24559029&senddate=2021-07-26
  15. Hearing on the Giant Eagle site is today. This quote the Dispatch included tho: “”This is a watershed development. If this goes through, communities will be lost throughout the city," said Brenda Gischel, who leads the Schumacher Place Civic Association and has been one of the development's staunchest critics.” 😳 https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/2021/07/26/new-arena-district-outdoor-drinking-area-columbus-city-council/8052984002/?fbclid=IwAR1ifZtg721iQAWQN-dNNRrYtB9JslhGfnWIN0UMs-zG6lunl-8uAjwW5jw
  16. Are there plans for the adjacent lot on the west side? It’s fenced off and has equipment, but l wasn’t sure if that was just staging for the Chipotle building.
  17. That’s what I’m hoping for too.
  18. Thanks! I was thinking there would be another, based on the map for phase one, but, reading further, it seems like it’s two residential buildings for now. I’m hoping they just keep on building after the first phase is complete.
  19. Business First reporting the King and High project finally got approval: St. Louis-based developer gets approval to build 7-story tower after years of redesign, community feedback https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/subscribe?iana=csnav&csrc=6305
  20. Dispatch: A sign of progress: Scaffolding surrounding Rhodes Tower begins to come down “After more than four years of being covered by mountainous scaffolding, portions of both Pearl Street and Lynn Street surrounding the Rhodes State Office Building are finally seeing the light of day. Scaffolding that was erected in late 2016 at the start of the state tower's now nearly four-year-long improvement project is now coming down as construction work enters its final stages of completion, said Melissa Vince, a spokesperson for the Department of Administrative Services.” https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/2021/07/22/rhodes-tower-improvements-near-complete-scaffolding-comes-down/8055175002/
  21. From the above-linked CU article: Wonder what the actual chances are of the parking hawks on council letting it slide with no additional parking? If developers don’t have to build parking into their plans, they really could offer up some big, exciting proposals.
  22. Also, I never knew this is known as the Red Brick District. Learn something new every day 😂
  23. That’s great news! Every time I pass by this property I can’t help to think how underutilized this space is. Can’t wait to see what they propose.
  24. I’m sure if given another opportunity, they’d still pass on buying too. I doubt their issue is noise complaints so much as their currently enjoying easy, minimal traffic arrivals and departures for their trucks that they’ll soon have to give up.
